Scrolling with the mouse wheel in the hotbar does not work as expected

When scrolling with the mouse wheel one "klick" not the next field in the hotbar is selected but instead it 'runs' over several fields (see attachment).

This has to be a bug in MC-Bedrock-Edition (and not an error in my setup), in the Java-Version and all other games it works just fine.

Used mouse: Logitech Performance MX
Tested in a singleplayer-world

Other affected mouses:

  • Logitech MX Master

  • Logitech M585

  • Logitech M510

  • Logitech MK710

Potential Workaround:

Disable "Smooth Scrolling" in Logitech Options.

From duplicate report MCPE-45248:

So im using the Logitech MK710 Mouse, and updated my drivers from logitechs official website, when the drivers are installed, minecraft bugs the scrolling wheel.

so if i uninstall logitechs mouse drivers, replug it in and let windows install its own mouse drivers (just called HID compliant mouse), the scrolling works perfectly fine, the downside is, i cannot map the extra buttons on my mouse without the software/driver.

so yeah the problem lies in the driver Logitech HID-compliant Unifying Mouse

After the 1.16.200 update, scrolling causing the hotbar to cycle serveral times when in 'full screen' mode. But changing to windowed mode, the scroll works as expected.

This bug is still a thing in Q1 of 2021 with my MX master 3, The only thing that can really solve it is turning the game into windowed from full screen (Which someone has already mentioned). This really shouldn't be a bug considering the fact that this was first reported almost more than 3 years ago. This bug is still in effect on version 1.16.201

I have this issue as well in Minecraft from the Windows store when using sensitivity over 50 and had Logitech oprions recently installed with wheel scrolling set to 3 in that software.

I temporarily  'resolved' it by uninstalling options  since that's when I noticed the erratic behavior started. I can still use Windows mouse options mouse scrolling set to 3 lines and 60 in Minecraft for the sensitivity.

Hope this helps out in the investigation...

Bump

I can confirm this issue is not limited to mouses either. The iPad Magic Keyboards trackpad also dosen’t scroll correctly as when scrolling it zooms through the hotbar at an impossible to control speed.

The issue seemed to get worse once I installed Logitech Options. I have a Logitech M325. A simple restart of my computer does nothing.

Please confirm if this is still an issue

This bug still affects me still in 1.21.81
