Some users have found that they are able to use the higher resolution packs by reducing the resolution in the pack settings.

When I activate this RP, It always crashing, I can't upload it. In main menu all is normal, but when I'm joining any world, game always crashing.
Reported to be happening on Android, iOS and Xbox at least.

yes.
It might be a good idea to remove all of the downloaded and cached packs by going to Settings→Storage, and then re-downloading the packs from the store again. Could you try that and see if it makes a difference please?
Also, could you please provide information regarding the devices affected by this bug?

Similar issue with zig zag texture. I’m playing on iPad and tried deleting the texture and downloading/reinstall but it still crashes when applying the zig zag texture. My version crashes at the game load menu.

Any news on a fix for this Zig Zag texture crash issue?

my wife on xbox one s plays using this texture pack. it takes a couple of tries to get into her game. She has to quit game completely then restart it to get it to work. I can join just fine, even during her initial loading when she cant get in. of course like any good husband I run around her map and show her I am in her game, while it shows her still loading. I'm playing on an older xbox one. no special s or x. lol

Same issue here. Just bought zigzag on dd’s iPad, game either crashes at Lisa’s screen or as loading into a game. Not very tech savvy here, but have uninstalled texture pack and re downloaded with no luck. Very frustrating

Yes, I have the same issue on my iPad with ZigZag texture pack by Jamizzle. It just crashes. Then I bought 2 new texture packs last night, VanillaBDcraft by BDcraft & Chroma Hills HD by Syclone Studios, and I’m having the same problem. So frustrating. Other texture packs work, but I’ve spent a decent amount of money on these 3, and I’m disappointed they’re not working. Maybe they shouldn’t be in the store/marketplace for people to buy if they don’t work?

I agree. I rarely buy anything from the store, so it’s a treat for dd when we do. Now we are just frustrated and have stopped bothering to try and get into a game.

Just tried it......and unfortunately yes, it’s still a problem. Zig zag texture pack causes game to crash out before loading. Is a refund possible?

It must be an known issue that they are working on. Minecraft had a note that HD textures are causing a crash bug and they are working on it.

Yes. It happens when I apply the texture to an existing world and when I create a new world and apply it while creating. I play only on my iPad all current versions.

Yes. We apply the texture pack to a new or existing world and are then unable to load and get kicked out. We’ve never actually seen the texture pack in action since we bought it!

I downloaded the ZigZag pack today and I have the same issue. When I activate the pack in settings and then return to the main menu it says "Loading resources packs. This may take a few moments" but the moment the main menu appears I have a black screen and the game crashes (Sometimes when it takes a little longer to crash I can enter my world but it stops in "Generating world. Loading resources" and the game crashes the same way).
When I open the game again a new message appears "Global resources reset. Resources failed to load previously".
I don't know if it's related but the moment after I purchased the pack I have issues changing skins too.

Removed all contents from storage and re-downloaded the pack again but it still doesn't work.

This is a known bug on android and iOS devices. Let’s hope this gets resolved soon.

I am dealing with this issue on my IPad as well. When is thing going to be resolved? 😭

I resolved this for myself (my daughter actually) for zigzag and other HD packs on iOS by changing to lower (64) resolution using “wrench” icon before starting world on resource selection. This will likely solve for individual users too and hopefully helps lead to longer term solve. What really needs to happen is this should be default behavior on iOS imo. Given the number of reports on this I’m surprised this answer isn’t already here but I do not see it. Good luck!

How do you change to lower resolution on Minecraft pe?
You can adjust the settings for the pack this way:
Open the world settings where the pack is applied (pencil icon next to the world save)
Under Add-Ons, choose Resource Packs
On the right, tap the active pack (eg Zig ZAG)
Tap the pack settings button (spanners icon)
Slide the resolution down to a lower setting
This should enable you to open the pack, as it is set to a lower resolution.
If you have the pack applied as a global resource, the steps are almost the same as above:
From the home screen, choose Settings
Select Global Resources
# On the right, tap the active pack (eg Zig ZAG)
Tap the pack settings button (spanners icon)
Slide the resolution down to a lower setting

It's been over a year now, and this bug still hasn't been resolved. I'll make sure to leave any info needed just in case.
I play on an iPhone 6s Plus (current version 13.2). This bug seems to affect any texture pack in the marketplace that goes above 64x. This bug affects the overall game (worlds, realms, servers)
Using any texture pack at 128x (or higher) causes the game to crash immediately.

Since the version of the 1.12.0, this bug has been existed for a year😞
I created high revolution texturepacks in bedrock version, there are so many comments reported they crash while using the HD texture.

Just bought the PureBDcraft texture pack on ps4 only to find it crashing my game unless I'm on 64x and below. If I use 128x it crashes seconds after loading up the world. Now I can't even use the texture pack on 32 it just crashes overall, icon for the texture pack in the menu appears as a black and purple error icon.

I did said "fix" above for Chroma Hills on my switch and it still crashed. I'm reading that this has been an issue for over a year, why? Especially if said fix above isn't working. I spent money on this texture pack and it doesn't work. Bit ridiculous.

Same here on iPad Air 3 (iOS 14.1). At first chromahills HD didn’t worked at all (128 or 64) (crash 1s after loading the world). I have then deleted all my ressources then reinstalled Chromahills HD and it worked (at 64 res). I played few days like that then.... my game received the « ray tracing update » (don’t know the version but you certainly do). And from that moment the pack make my game crash again at 64 or 128 res. I play with basic textures now... what have changed from previous version ??

Since 1.16.201 update, Chroma Hills 128 (Hi-Res) crashes to desktop upon load. This had worked fine previous to this update.
Things I've tried unsuccessfully so far;
remove and redownload texture pack from the marketplace
Start a new world with Chroma Hills
Start a new world with default, then switch to Chroma Hills
Reduce the texture pack to 64x from 128x.

On PS4 Chroma Hills is crashing while it is loading the game. :/ This just started happening 2-3 days ago. So now it won’t work well on iOS and on our PS4.

Whenever a world loads, it immediately crashes within 2-3 seconds. I have tried with existing worlds and brand new ones.
I have attempted the following:
1) Changed to 64x
2) Deleted and re-downloaded in marketplace
3) Created new worlds
4) Loaded world with different texture pack or no texture pack, save and exit, then apply Chroma Hills afterwards while disabling the other texture packs.
5) After it crashes the game, I'd relaunch minecraft and reload the world 30x in a row hoping.
Every single attempt I have had resulted in it crashing within 2-3 seconds of the world loading. This has been going on since the nether update on the nintendo switch. I'm quite frustrated with this.
I've sent emails to Syclone studio who developed Chroma Hills, reached out to their twitter page, and getting no responses. Its been many months now. I'm now posting here. This should either get resolved or refund my money. This is getting quite ridiculous.

Chroma Hills HD for the nintendo switch STILL does not work. its been sooooo long and no fixes. It keeps crashing the game upon loading. What's going on already? I want my money back for a service im not getting.

Still not fixed after almost 3 years ...

Bought ZigZag pack a few days ago on Nintendo Switch. At 128x it crashes after a few minutes in game. Reduced resolution to 32x, and I was able to play about 10 minutes before hard crash. I have Bedrock 1.18.2. This has been a bug for 3 years! I might as well have set fire to that cash! My boats disappear constantly now this. Why is Minecraft so buggy?!

This is now happening on my nephew's Nintendo Switch, but the weird thing is, the texture pack that we want to use is the same one we've been using for 2 years. Now, all of sudden it's crashing the game just like reported above. Vanilla textures work fine.
Please confirm if this is still an issue
