Texture Pack Resolution Causing Game to Crash

My game continuously crashes when I increase my texture pack resolution to 128x. This is something I did not experience before the new Nether Update.

I can confirm, I experience the same issue since the Nether Update (1.16 and 1.16.1) on Windows 10 Edition.

I use VanillaBDCraft, it crashes on 128x and 256x resolution, but it does not crash on 64x resolution.

I already used it before, and it NEVER crashed in 1.14.

I am also facing the issue in the same conditions explained by Damien Roch. But I am using PureBDCraft, which works in x64 but randomly (very often) crashes in x128 and x256 resolutions.

Same issue here, with VanillaBDCraft 128x

Hello, I am on Windows 10 edition and I also have issues with some packs (not all) with resolutions >= 128 pixels. I mainly use VanillaBDCraft and it makes the game crash very often. This didn't happen on 1.14.

Also, I'd like to say I have a high-end computer (16 GB RAM, 1080ti GTX nVidia, AMD Ryzen 7 2700) so I bet it's not a hardware related issue.

(more info) Maybe that's nothing related to the issue, but when I was in 1.14 with that computer I could play in SOLO survival with a render distance of 96 chunks without any trouble or lag. Now in 1.16 I had to reduce my render distance to 48!! 64 is playable but I get FPS drops at some places. Maybe changes in the rendering system could have broke some resource packs too?

Same issue here with Vanillabdcraft on W10 edtion

I`m using pureBDcraft and on the 256res the center of my base gets single digit fps now where it use too usually drop too high 30s or 40 fps.
had too switch down too 32res. Also dropping items on higher res on even a new map takes my fps too single digits.

Sorry for my english, but..

PS5(Disc version) updated recreated DB + Minecraft Bedrock disk version cleared reinstalled updated + VanillaBDCraft (93.4MB with HD UI 1.2MB) reinstalled

all settings:

1. Single player my world (copy of my world), new world, infinity/flat = few crashes, but after it is OK

2. Split screen my world, new world = few more crashes, but after it is OK

3. My Realm (copy of my world), new world = required from Realm world or used from players pack settings CRASH, CRASH, CRASH, 256x 128x 64x 32x,

Also Only VanillaBDCraft HD UI used CRASH, anything CRASH CRASH CRASH. I buy it, but i cant use it. This is joke?

"Old"  Mi Mix 3 - M1810E5A + Android Bedrock version + VanillaBDCraft all settings:

1. Single player world OK

2. My Realm OK

*If i have pack in game and realm do not require any pack, i can't use my pack on this realm? (PS5)

I am experiencing this issue on PS5 with the Jolicraft HD texture pack I just purchased. The game crashes upon loading of a world when I am trying to use the 128x version. If the 128x version is set as a global resource, the menu changes and the game does not crash. The crash only happens when trying to load a world.

Also, don't you think it is not ok to advertise texture packs on the marketplace as 128x when you can't even use the 128x version because the game then just crashes? That's false advertising.

It's been 2 years. As a studio funded by a multi billion dollar company, you should be ashamed of your programming skills!
