[MCPE-45930] Villager wont sleep or work at his work station

one of my villagers wont restock his locked trades at his work station and he wont sleep. i had a lectern in my house so he took that as his work station so i moved it closer to him in a safe place but he just wont use it

I am experiencing the same thing. Villagers in a pre update village have switched over to new professions but are either not linking to a work station and or finding a bed and or not sleeping at night. These behaviors are happening in two pre-update villages. It's like they don't know what to do or act under the new rule set. Also, some villagers, farmers to be specific, are not linking to a composter when there are more than enough to link too, and there are no unemployed to steal the site, yet they will not link and thus will not restock their locked trades.

Having same issue here on our 1.11 based realm. The villagers in the photo all had work stations and slept in beds with no issues. Two days ago they stopped sleeping in beds and using workstations and all their trades are now locked and wont refresh. All of the villagers shown that this is happening with are above level 2. Most are 3 or higher. The photo is from night time and can see some of the villagers have kept their beds and sleeping as they should. Steps I have taken since this began; 1) I have removed all beds and workstation blocks other than those in this area within a couple hundred block radius. 2) Broken and replaced beds and workstations in this area. No green particles show or anger particles when doing this. 3) I have fed them. They will breed more villagers if they are fed. 4) Added an iron golem into the area. 5) Traded with them on what trades they did have available and all other villagers in this area to make sure they are "happy". No change.

Same problem only they link up to their bed and workstation, they just can’t figure out how to use stairs or half blocks. This is really troublesome.

I can see they are stuck by sleeping villagers with their beds and job sites against the wall/ corner, trapping them from moving out/ reaching.

You should leave a space or 2 around each bed so that they can move around to reach for their beds and or jobs effectively. Also, villagers don't do well pathfinding around side by side beds. Some would try to get across sleeping villagers, thus not getting there on time.

Playing on realm. 1.11.4

Villagers are hard to figure out. I move the villagers about 100 blocks north. Then about 100 blocks west. Then about 100 blocks south to attempt to break link to breeder. Was working more or less. Occasionally would have to break beds and work stations to retrain villagers.

After .3 or .4 this happens more often. Sometimes villagers will not react at all. Then start working again. Sometimes after i clip one or more trying to break beds. But also for no reason.

Seems to break everytime new villagers come in range or village. Seriously spend more time try to deal with this broken game getting frustrated than i do build things and enjoying it. Spend all the time working. To either have it break and either waste time trying to get it working or killing the villagers and starting over. Now 3 tries .2, .3 and .4. Please drop the new mechanics and just go back to doors and random villagers or let us select from villager menu. And just have them refresh trades every day.

@Eyeth those are some great gameplay tips. Unfortunately this issue exists with villagers that are also free roaming.
Keeping them in a trading hall situation or free roaming does not create or solve this bug.

I am having a similar issue on Bedrock PS4 version 2.05. I was experimenting with an iron farm in creative and things were going well for a while, then all the sudden my villagers just stopped moving. The only thing they will do is turn to look at me as I pass by. They will not pick up carrots to breed, work at their stations (many won't even connect to a station), or sleep. They only stand and stare at me.

A lot of different bugs have been mentioned in the comments on this ticket, however, based on the original description of a villager not restocking after his workstation was moved (which implies he’s not linking to it at the new location) I’m going to request this to be resolved as a duplicate of MCPE-49580.
