Update by @unknown 10/27/20:
Based on numerous comments, these are the best steps to reproduce the bug, but it does not happen all of the time:
Join a multiplayer world/have someone join your multiplayer world.
Have a player kill you.
Respawn.
I was trying to craft a wood pickaxe and just got zombiefied in one world and died in another then got zombie arms when I was in multiplayer.
Steps to Reproduce: (NOTE: This only works in Multiplayer games)
1. The crafting a wooden pickaxe does not work now. Sorry😞
2. Get killed (In the game)
3. See result with the camera view thing
Observed Results: When I do the 2/3 things above I get zombie arms.
Expected Results: That I don't get zombie arms

I never had a bow. I just was crafting a wood pickaxe when my friend told me I did something with my arms.
I've seen a few people on servers have their arms pointed outwards last year, but I never knew why. Just last night when I was playing with some friends, two of them were affected, and dying didn't even fix it.
Possibly relates to MCPE-12102.
It happened again. I was playing and I had zombie arms, but when I fell in lava, my zombie-ness was gone.
Honestly, every comment that gives new information is valid since no one even knows how or why it happens.
What we know now is that dying might enable it and/ or disable it. I would change the confirmation status to Confirmed, but until there's some reliable way to reproduce it, all I can do is tell Mojang.
Ive had this happen to me multiple times, and sometimes players are stuck on the eating animation aswell
So, here's what happened today:
I joined my friend's Xbox One world, my friend killed me, I respawned with extended arms, left the world, then I couldn't reconnect to it. This happened to two worlds and it seems permanent per world.
However, when I invited my friend to my Windows 10 world and ran the same tests, they were still at least able to reconnect with extended arms.
This might be an important issue.
It seems like the player is in the crossbow holding position
I've encountered this bug on Windows 10, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One. This glitch seems to happen across all platforms.
This happened to me a couple weeks ago. I was aiming with the bow and another player kill me. After that my character has that glitch. This was in an Xbox One multiplayer map
It also happened to me while using my shield
Can this be reproduced in Single Player local worlds?

Steps: 1:Use a shield by crouching as fast as possible OR happens randomly while crafting via crafting table
Observed results: The arms will be raised like a zombie arm and will rarely affect the first person view (check the third person perspective
Also I dont think it's common sadly so its tracking will be hard but when it happenes it really becomes annoying
I have only been able to reliably reproduce this in a multiplayer world. Whoever dies to a player will respawn will extended arms. However, if the victim kills themselves via a mob or natural damage, they will respawn without the effect.
This is just annoying I randomly walk in multiplayer servers and see characters hands glitched
BTW if it is a battle royale(out of what I have seen) than it is more likely to happen
It is not really game-changing, just annoying.
When you die from fall/monster/lava, you don't get it. Only from players you get it. fall/monster/lava disables it.
@Bernardo, You do have a point
I have similar problem. Resoved by holding a crossbow.
This happens on Xbox Bedrock Edition also.
So it happens on ALL devices... Strange...
So it CAN happen without dying... Apparently it can also happen with or without having custom items, like sword-type ones, as well. Also, on PE, it can be fixed, at least in my case by unfocusing the game, like going into another app, without closing it, and coming back to it, still without closing the app
It seems if you kill another player that the glitch goes away.
(This may just be a coincidence)
But it also might be a "quick fix"
I have also noticed that when a player dies, the player that died arms turn into zombie arms.
I think that I have seen before that when the player is still red from dieing, their arms stick out... but most of the time, my friends play with Immediate Respawn enabled, So it would be a bit hard to notice.
It only happens to me when killed by another player
This has happened a lot when I'm playing survival with my friends, but not when I'm by myself.
Holding a crossbow fixes this. The arms are in a crossbow position, not the zombie arm position.
I will fix up the description a bit.
It happens constantly on my realm
i think the bug is on mi switch aswell when my friend kills me on minecraft and i respawn have zomby arms it works the other way as well
Only happens on our own worlds we created. And if when another player kill each other on survival mode. if we exit out of the entire minecraft and restart. it is the only time some have been able to reset their arms. while others, usually the creator of the world can log out and log in and their arms are back to normal.
This title needs to be changed. They are not zombie arms, they are the bow animation.
This is the bow animation.
This also happens when playing in multiplayer server and someone kills you. It is crossbow holding position and not zombies arms.
I know but it looks like zombie arms and it also mainly happens when the other player is killed by a zombie (at least for me)
People know what I mean though
The title isn't intuitive for anyone who doesn't know what this issue is. Someone scrolling through reports would likely skip a ticket that, when the name "zombie arms" is taken out of context, describes something that is already in the game (zombies have zombie arms). Nevertheless, the title is wrong anyway.
A name change would make this slightly easier to find, instead of being redirected from a duplicate report to this one. For context, at the time of making this comment, this ticket is only almost 7 months old but has 81 linked reports that were marked as a duplicate after this one was confirmed (a little over 1 duplicate created every 3 days), with the latest duplicate being created 8 hours ago.
The description also need the "zombie arms" to be replaced with "bow/crossbow position".
OK. Some people mentioned that it needed to change, but not WHY. Thanks @Doubletoad! 🙂
Also a question. there is other editions like Java that have this. Why are they duplicates? I mean THIS problem is Bedrock edition.
I have a bit of insight on this. I was messing around with the players behavior in a behavior pack of mine. I made it so that when a player gets hit, they will attack their target NOTE: THE PLAYER ATTRIBUTES IN THE BEHAVIOR PACK DOESN'T ALWAYS AFFECT THE ACTUAL PLAYER. But back to what I was saying, when I did spawn in the player mob and I hit them, they actually had the exact same arm placement... I believe this connects to why this happens
The linked tickets from Console Edition, Realms, and Bedrock Dedicated Server (BDS) were submitted under the wrong project. If you view the tickets from BDS, you would see that they generally point towards Bedrock Edition. For the Realms ticket, since it's been confirmed that players are affected regardless if they are in Realms or not, it was marked duplicate. The ticket from Console Edition was created in January, after Console Edition lost its support.
@Doubletoad so the problem just has to be the same to be duplicated, regardless of the edition?
Not necessarily; the Console Edition report was supposed to be reported to Bedrock Minecraft, but wasn't. The same problems can exist in any edition, but that ticket was not only duplicated by the same reporter in BDS-2637, but the ticket was confirmed for Minecraft PS4 2.01, which is the version when PS4 players were given access to Bedrock Minecraft.
As for the other tickets, it's possible to reproduce this without the need for Realms or a server, so they were marked as a duplicate.
This is not a bug. It is natural on all platforms.
NO it is a BUG Adrian!
@Doubletoad thanks! I understand it now. ...As for @Adrian and @DeSilver... I know im not "argument stopper" but plz don't argue.
But @Adrian it is a bug.
this happened to me once, but restarting my ps4 fixed the problem
the easiest way to fix it is to either: kill someone or kill yourself
However, it shoudn't happen so it is a bug and needs to be fixed.
I know this doesn’t help but the arms are in the crossbow position
@Kaleb, we sorta know that.
@@unknown I have some new reproduction steps. As of whatever version it now happens sometimes when the player is killed. Mainly by another player.
@Undyne it doesn't happen when you kill someone, its when they kill you.
I wonder if it happens in adventure mode...
I'm pretty sure the arms position is based on the arms position when using a bow.
I noticed that if a player kills another player, they get these zombie-like arms, but when the player with those zombie-like arms kill themselves in a way like drowning or swimming in lava, it fixes there arms and they look normal again. Except if another player kills them again and again, it would not solve the issue. I really hope they get this fixed.
I’m personally unable to reproduce.
@TheCrafter06 were you playing in a multiplayer world? Did a player kill you?
This happens to me and my brother all the time when we play together 😛
I honestly love this bug it's funny to laugh at with my siblings after they have some fight over something stupid
Probably you have an item (bow) in your hand, which is removed or I think it has a minor visual bug, when the bow not displaying in F5 view.
