Expected result: Boats would have a small amount of health, comparable to a minecart, armor stand, or farm animal, and the amount would match Java Edition. (According to the wiki boats have just over 4 health, so I am assuming that is what they have on Java.)
Observed result: Boats have 40 health. They take 20 hits to break with the fist, 5 with an unenchanted trident, 8 with a stone axe, and so on. In comparison, minecarts have 6 health, and can be broken in one hit by a stone sword, diamond pickaxe, or crossbow shot.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Place a boat.
2. In survival mode, hit the boat repeatedly until in breaks, counting your hits.
3. The number of hits will be the smallest multiple of (tooltip damage value + 1) that is >= 40.

Now that the player's fist was nerfed it takes basically forever to break boats. Why don't they work like minecarts?
This is very annoying in iceway systems where the player has to break and place boats to change road, making elytra yet again a better alternative.
