Sign text is not visible from a distance

I was building stuff in creative mode when I tried to put a sign down, it took me to the sign text entering screen but when I entered text it didn't appear on the sign.

Known affected devices:

  • Amazon Kindle Fire devices

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab 2

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab GT-P1000L

This issue seems to affect the current release on the Amazon Kindle Fire HD (see MCPE-8026 & MCPE-8134).
Can any Kindle Fire user confirm that this applies to Single Player? The account in this report, as well as newer tickets, appears to concern a seperate issue from MCPE-6047.

This also affects my kindle it also affects single player and in both creative and survival

I am having this issue on my Galaxy Tab E32GB running Android 7.1.1

It is inconsistent. Sometimes I will type words and they will show up, but sometimes not. One example: I put up a sign with Helm's Deep on it on my server and no words would show up. I had to ask my friend to make the sign for me. It worked for her. I later put up a sign saying Exit, and there was no issue. It seems that it will not let me put up signs with certain words, but other signs are fine? There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it, either. Location doesn't matter, spacing doesn't matter. I tried to put "Ali" on a sign and it came up blank several times, then replaced the word "Ali" with ###

It makes absolutely no sense to me. I cleared my cache to see if that would do anything. No change. I am just super perplexed and pretty frustrated. 😞
