Mobs, specifically creepers, are seeming to spaw excessively (easy setting) and buildings are getting destroyed often. Plenty of light (+7) it is making the game unplayable

Please provide a screenshot of the area where monsters are spawning unexpectedly. This ticket will be resolved "awaiting response" until updated. Also please note the following:
In previous versions of Minecraft, it was common for the cave monster cap to be filled by monsters hidden in small, inaccessible caves. The chance of this happening would increase as you spent time in an area, for example building a base or exploring and lighting the visible caves. With the new despawning system in 1.16, the hidden monsters are now able to despawn regularly, so new ones can spawn in other places. Monsters should now regularly respawn on full blocks in places you have already visited but have not fully lit.
Keep in mind that torches have a light level of 14, monsters spawn in in light level 7 and below, and spawning is based on the light level of the space just above the floor. You may find it helpful to temporarily turn off smooth lighting (in video settings) to see how the light levels change block by block. For more information on calculating light levels see the Minecraft wiki.
Thanks for the response, GoldenHelmet, the original complaint was from my son, so I don't know all the specifics of what the conditions of what he was experiencing other that "ever since the update monsters are getting in my house and blowing it up!" But what you said about the despawning/respawning cycle makes sense and there may be a good chance that he has altered the gamma correction (I know that is the old Wolfenstein 3D/Doom terminology but I'm pretty sure the concept still applies) to a point where he believes that he has light but it may be lacking. I will investigate this and get back.
I've had creepers spawning in the nether, for some odd reason... It's on an older world (v1.9) that has that issue.
@@unknown creepers spawning in the nether would be a separate issue, so please make a new report if you want to pursue it. It could possibly be due to an outdated resource pack. I’d be happy to take a look at the world save.
This also happens to me I ended up replacing all the area around the door with glass so if the creeper is on other side of door in direct sun with no shade, I've got half a chance of seeing it, I've had them spawn on underneath a glass floor with their head stuck in the glass so you can't get to it. Have to change to peaceful and leave the area to fix with out destroying base, yet villagers in the same scenario spring out of 4 glass blocks to be above the glass.
@@unknown any mob can spawn with its head in glass, to my knowledge. This is actually used in mob farm designs to automatically push mobs to desired places.
The proportion of creepers spawning indoors and in caves in 1.16 and 1.16.1 is higher than it should be due to MCPE-71684, however, I have yet to see a credible report of any monsters spawning in areas that are adequately lit.
I am requesting this ticket to be resolved "awaiting response" again, as we wait for visual documentation of the reported issue.
@golden helmet i would've but it got a massive corruption issue due to MCPE-58514 and i was unable to restore a backup as the backup got corrupted too.
Thank you for your report!
However, this issue has been closed as Cannot Reproduce.
We were unable to reproduce the problem you are describing in the latest version.
We have done extensive testing around this, and have found that mobs are not spawning in lit up areas. Remember that mobs can spawn in areas with a light level of 7 or less, so more torches might be needed to fully light up a larger area.
