Just bought my first realm. I have been playing in a single player world for the last few days and wanted to import it. When I created the realm it generated the random world and works fine. When I select “replace world” and upload the other world, the game will upload successfully and rather quickly but when I click play is when it gets weird. It loads with the usual text boxes, then for a few seconds it just shows the video that usually plays in the background during a loading screen, then the screen goes blank and gives me the error “disconnected from server.” The server shows up green/online on my main menu. If I delete and regenerate the world to random the Realm works again. I can still play the world I’m trying to import in single player and it loads fine, it also works online when friends connect to it.
I’ve tried updating the game, my system, clearing my Microsoft account log in and relogging but nothing works.
EDIT: I noticed that when I try and load into my imported world Realm that the “Loading Resources” screen is always where the game stops loading and gives me the error. My imported world I’m trying to get to work uses the Natural Texture Pack.

I have been experiencing this exact issue as well.
My son and I have an existing world that was created on the Switch. We set up a Realm and generated a random world and everything worked as expected. When I tried uploading the world we had been playing in locally (nothing fancy or beyond the default settings) we see the same behavior as above. On the Switch, if we try to join the realm it starts to load, then for a few moments the screen cuts back to the panning background that is typically beyond the menus, then I we get an error that we are unable to connect to server.
If I connect to the realm from an iOS device, I'm able to connect normally and everything is find until the user on the switch tries to connect. Oddly, while the Switch is starting to load the world, the user's character pops up in the world, but then when the error pops up both users are disconnected and I am unable to reconnect until the error is cleared.
I've also tried downloading a copy of the realm from the server. That appears to work, but if I try to load it either on the Switch or an iOS device I get the "A newer version of this game has saved this level." error. Both Switch and iOS device seem to be running the most recent version available (1.10.0)...
I have this exact issue. I cant find any other tickets matching it. I can log in to the Realm fine on my laptop but still have not been able to log in on my switch. I always get the "Disconnected from Server" error. Pretty annoyed that i payed for it.
Both the laptop and switch are updated to the newest versions as well as the devices themselves.
Hi we have a similar issue. In our case the world was imported via my gf's iphone. Didn't noticed any issue while importing. But whenever we play together, I use Switch while she's on ios, when I leave the realm she gets kicked out of the realm and the disconnected message appears. We did not encounter the issue when I am playing using android, but it happens everytime when I am on the Switch.
My friend plays on Java Edition 1.16.1 and has this issue. He'll play for a few minutes then get kicked, then will continue to be kicked every few seconds after joining. He is the realm owner, I don't have this issue on the realm.
Edit: He's still having the issue in 1.16.2
This is happening to us too. Playing on Amazon fire, bedrock edition. Usually ok during daytime hours (US), evening hours we can't play for more than a few minutes. Appears to be the realm since our connection is fine for everything else.
I normally get this issue with 2 or more people on the realm but it still happens with only 1. Additionally the realm often resets to the last backup making me think it's crashing. this can loose anywhere from 2 minutes to 40 minuets of progress. doesn't seem like a lot but if you spend 40 minutes building something then get disconnected, wait for 10 minuets to re-join then have to do it all again, it's less than fun.
My realm size is a little over 1GB if that's anything to do with it. I know it never happened earlier on so though file size might be the issue.
Another update. I got together with a friend to test my realm, he is able to join and the world works perfectly fine until I try and join. When I try and join he gets kicked and is unable to join, and I still haven’t been able to get in successfully. We tried this on a completely different WiFi setup/network to make sure it wasn’t anything with my router but the same results occurred on my end.
