So, you do not admit that level seed vanilla from 1.17.1 generates a totally different world with the same seed in 1.18?
Well, it does.
And seeing that there are more servers around the world that use plugins and mods, which is totally unaware at Mojang, these problems exist.
But I'm sorry that I tried to bring this to your attention, even if it is not vanilla, because in vanilla there is absolutely no way to regen any part of the world - using vanilla is like sitting in a rollercoaster, you can not do anything but SCREAMMMMM!!!!!!!
I know it is not a thing YOU can change, but at least YOU can make this aware to the people who ordered out to have DISCORD as a meaning of solving problems.
As I stated, it is far more helpfull to shout answers and solutions from a bridge so that no one can read it back! That is what discord is. I am saying, stop using DISCORD for problem solving when noone with problems can enter, use a forum, so that problems can be found by simple searching.
I for sure can not convince the ones who ordered DISCORD to be a main solution channel, maybe when this person who did had a problem, he/she had to go to DISCORD and find out the same problem I HAVE!
and $ h1T is no swearing, you made it look like it was, it comes out of all species, so it is part of a natural process, it stinks, is ugly and a lot more words encapsulated into one simple word.....(the word I used and YOU altered)
Mister Kumasasa,
I'm sorry to tell you, but I can't test anything now because I am currently not behind/or in front of my monster PC, I answer this from an old laptop, and can't tell right now if I can in the coming days. Therefor the server log is also on that pc, and again not accessible for me at this time. Sorry.
When I get home, I will do new tests to check if this still happens and when it does, I will send you the log from server.jar.
About the vanilla data pack, ehm, I do not think this is the issue, I try to test as clean as I can get it from your source without tampering at all...
I hope this helped a little bit.
The difference? ehm, let me see, sticks in a crafting table, does not count down when crafting a tool, and instead of not counting down, it multiplied??? Ok, I see your problem here, but it has to do with exactly the same actions on the crafting table.... So, there is the difference....?
Did this answer helped you?
And again, I think If I would download them both again (server.jar and MC.jar) and start testing again, it could be resolved by now...
I do think too that this issue resolves itself (through constant improvement of the game and server.jar).....
I assume that you can close this as there are newer updates, but that info is accessible for you guys, not for me. We keep testing and send you guys weird info....
ps. Thanks for all the hard work you guys at Mojang put into this game for us all, maybe we don't say it too often, but it is true, good job!
Was that for me? I tested this on an i7 with 16 gigabyte or ram, only one simple freaking server.jar and the normal unchanged version of Minecraft, so, out of memory is something server.jar accomplishes and not my hardware. I keep tabs on the use of memory during these tests, and believe me, there was plenty to use. And if you refer to the other guy? I think he did the same as me, why else does testing for you guys in a crippled system would bring any viable data... This was just a moment in time, and I think that the situation is quit different if I download the server.jar again.... So, from the time I placed my problem, and the answer I gave you now, there could be a few version updates in between. Maybe telling us that instead of barking at my hardware....(No offense, just realistic.😉)
Ehm, what would you think when playing Minecraft? You guys wrote the book, not me, You could tell if this should occur or not! technically speaking. So, you roam around in the world where trees are, and under trees it is rather darker than in the sun. So by moving through the world it is normal that texture changes shades if it becomes darker, but not that the screen intensity should react to that.....
I am now currently testing 1.13-pre 1, so, if it occurs again, frequently, I shall write a new report.
Thanks for reacting.......
I played on a server.jar... New world, so did you try that too?
I went to single player (boring, lol) and yes, you are right, but not when playing on a server.jar.....
This version, with the server version, does the same as with 18w07b; crash!
Latest crash file
I resetted my computer to see if Minecraft still logs normally when I was on the server, but unfortunately, it crashed again...
This is maybe useful info....
Glad to help...

This workaround worked..... even after I stopped the server and started it, I could log in normally...
version 18w07? on a server???
ok... ill do that...
Oh and single player mode? I can get to the world, but how am I making the same mistake in changing gamemode as I started it as creative.... I should be able to switch modes?
thanks, but as you know, world generation is something minecraft is doing at its core, not a serverjar or plugin (not that I use, otherwise I would start there)
I started at Worldedit, there came the response that nothing had changed in their programming, then I went to PaperMC, the same thing, someone pointed at level seed, so I started vanilla testing, the seed (as I said before) in 1.17.1 produces a totally differnt world from that same level seed in 1.18. That is quit a difference to server owners who need often to rely on plugins to help them restore idiots who ravish or destroy parts of their world....
That is all I am saying.....
Thanks for enlightening me on this subject...
