That's intentional.
Can confirm. On iOS, opening the game without internet crashes on load. Makes traveling a pain.

When eating or walking, the sounds seem to switch rapidly between the left and right channels and is VERY ANNOYING.

The CPU shouldnt be a problem. Could you give screenshot? That is a strange occurrence.
For me switching apps caused my model to mess up. It was funny (i became witherboss) but sometimes the horse model would grow to 100x its normal size lol
Well i ran this and my server gave a thread dump but isn't fully stopped...
If you download a zip, unzip it. Copy the folder that has pack.mcmeta directly inside. Open Minecraft, go to Options > Resource Packs > Open Resource Packs Folder. Paste the copied folder in there.
