@Dhranios This is in no way intentional. If Jappa himself knew this existed you can bet he’d fix it, my post just happened to get the classic “Fix bugs by calling them a feature” treatment.

Sigh, can confirm for 1.18.1

@Ledropha Miami This is somewhat of a parity issue knowing that Bedrock Edition’s Steve & Alex should’ve been added to Java a long time ago. However I’m talking about Bedrock Edition period. The default player head is meant to resemble Steve, and was added before Character Creator’s updated Steve. Because of this it hasn’t been updated yet, and is inconsistent with the default textures.

@Conner Steppi It's invalid in that sense. And honestly this is very valid, especially as more and more texture fixes get added every new update. Out of everything that should be updated and fixed, the main characters should be first on the list, so hopefully bugs like this will get reopened someday.

While you might think they don't need to match, they do. It's a simple 4 pixel line that can be added in 3 seconds top. And leaving it like this in the game for decades would just be weird.

How did this become not fixed when I don't even have an assignee on this report? I can only hope that someday when enough texture fixes are added, bugs like these will get reopened. Or maybe these will get fixed in-game and make the report being closed entirely obsolete.

@Little X While that is true, the head should still be fixed nonetheless. Best way I can think of doing this is just giving the player head its own texture based off the character creator's updated Steve.

Hey everyone! Knowing how there's just so many inconsistencies and outdated textures in the Texture Update, I decided to make Minecraft's true default look and feel with a texture pack that fixes multiple issues including the ones listed above. It's currently only for Java, though eventually and especially if requested will get a Bedrock release. Enjoy! Truly Default

@Blanket Duck Maybe to the naked eye on what quality monitor? It's pretty blatantly obvious to anyone with a quality screen.. lol

@Mateus Pereira Milbradt I've made a texture pack that fixes all issues/inconsistencies in Minecraft's default look and feel. It's constantly being worked on to have better, new, and consistent textures, and the latest version (1.6) should be released soon.

Truly Default

@Crackers0106 I'm aware they're different cause that reason, but that doesn't make them not different, they're very different. When you look at the actual pixels and changes you can see that they intentionally made it so they match the new textures and don't look outdated.

Also the clothes have changes to better suit the new textures, Alex lost the shadow under her hair on her back texture, Steve's sleeves were mirrored on both sides, the darker shades of colors on Steve's pants were changed to a more accurate color, and the legs of Steve were mirrored.

The only reason the clothes are mostly the same is because they still fit in with the new textures, and they didn't want to give Steve zombie clothes, which while fully updated and drawn by Jappa is intended to have a difference so it's obvious that the zombies clothes were freshly sewn with wool by Illagers in the woodland mansion, hence a room filled with wool colored like Steve's clothes.

@GlitchDestroyer There's a problem with Bedrock Steve not matching Java, though that still coincides with the actual bug here which is that head itself isn't updated. It's a big problem since it doesn't give a confirmation on what Steve & Alex are supposed to truly look like, and compared to other video game characters, there's none that's treated like this.

@Avoma This isn't a feature request, there's like multiple posts just like mine with the same labels I have that've either been fixed or waiting to be fixed, showing this is indeed the place to post this.

@Garfieldwxg55 I doubt it's purposeful, since even some small textures such as the saddle in the horse gui was fixed and updated to match the new textures after somebody reported it. Also Netherite is the shiniest thing in the game and's drawn by Jappa, and while Silverfish look silver I doubt they'd be more shiny, thus needing so many colors for each and every pixel.

The Oak sign's text isn't faded, it's just "texture updated". The other signs should've been updated, but they aren't which is a weird problem, and makes an inconsistent look.

Texture inconsistencies are considered bugs, most of the texture fixes come from here. I just hope this gets fixed since it's really strange
