The issue has been resolved. The hopper minecart now works. I found it was water that was preventing the items from being picked up.

@Jake Samuels because its like saying collecting iron unlocks the piston recipe instead of wood planks

That's completely intended, but not in the way you described it. can you post video evidence to confirm?

you should just save your saves (go to [if windows] C:\Users[your user here]\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\saves) then copy them to a safe place. then after that uninstall minecraft and all of its components. Re-install minecraft, put your save files back, and your done! if that does not work then i dont know what will

i have but one thing to say... make a Mojang account and sign in. then open minecraft launcher and sign in with your newly made account
