Yeah, this is an unfortunate product of colored beds: you have to have three of the same colored wool.

well the reason for the multiple door sounds when opening/closing a door is because of the placing sensitivity glitch. The use action will randomly be executed many times in one click. However, doors should not be making sounds when none are opened.

what do you mean by "it didn't work"? Be more specific so that maybe I could help you... What about the sun-trick?

I could provide you a temporary fix. If you have Daylight Cycle on, then see where the sun rises and sets. The sun will rise in the east and set in the west. Then you could tell where north is. Or you could use a map, the top of the map is always north, unless you turn it upside down in an item frame 😛

How did you hook it up?

Are they both signed into Xbox Live? If they are, I don't know why it wouldn't be working, I play with a friend, who has an iPad, and i have a pc. Perhaps they aren't in the same version? There was a minor update after the Better Together update. If any of them put in their actual age or an age lower than 18, they may be potentially banned from multiplayer. How you would overcome this problem is to make a dummy account, make the dummy account the parent account of your child's account (or his friend), and then change the privacy settings so he can play online.

even worse then that, if you use the weapon on the dead mob, it decreases durability. :/

I play on Win 10, and it's not supposed to be that low. In my survival there's an armored mob at least every third night. However, skeletons don't always drop their bows nor do mobs always drop their armor.

they've had this ever since they introduced grass paths, so not sure if it's a feature or a bug. If it is a feature, it's a bad one 😞
