Good to see it's not just me. I found there to be a 32% performance decrease this update even when adjusting for the +2 actual chunk render distance as shown in the below pictures of the identical chunks being loaded.  I found this especially disappointing when the 1.15 update is supposed to be all about optimization and bug fixes, I hope they are able to track down the source of the issue as it seems clear now it affects Nvidia and AMD and Intel hardware they must know about this performance drop themselves already just from testing the releases on their machines. I remember way back in 1.8 snapshots they had developed a rendering algorithm similar to the version on the Minecraft Mobile app and it was a huge leave forward in performance and I tested performance to be somewhere in between 1.14.4 and 1.15.

The render speed is much improved in 1.15 pre-release 1 however I've been able to replicate the issue in 1.15 Pre-Release 1 in attachment "2019-11-21_17.52.32.png".  I am not sure if related or if there is a separate issue where I can report my missing frames because in 1.14.4 even with +2 chunk render distance set my FPS was 190 rendering the exact same scene/chunks as 1.15 pre-release got me 130 frames in (32% performance loss in the "optimization update")  I'm just wondering if this is just a bug / poor support for my hardware?

This appears to be gone in snapshot 18w14b, but happens to me in 18w11a. Anyone else done some testing to confirm?

EDIT: I can actually see it happening in the distance but they are being corrected extremely quickly for me now whereas in previous snapshots nothing but reloading all the chunks would fix them. No change to the configuration as it still happens when I load up 18w11a.

This has been my complaint ever since they added key rebinding I thought I could use my mouse side buttons to sprint. I have tried rebinding my mouse's side buttons to keyboard keys with varying results. This is the case with most Windows Store games but needs to be resolved by Microsoft as players with noisy mechanical keyboards know the pain of having to double tap to sprint.

You want me to record it in a video as evidence or something? I'm just reporting my findings, but I'm not saying it's fixed as I never play with vsync on. I agree with you, they need to fix this but you don't have to be so ignorant because vsync has to do with controlling the FPS and the FPS and chunk rendering are very much entwined. On the other hand, it may just be that pushing out fewer frames per second has allowed my GPU to help more with chunk rendering via VBO's because I can see what might be the same issue happening but only very far away from me and they disappear very quickly a few milliseconds after I see them.

In snapshot 16w39c I still had the issue, but then I enabled vsync which I don't ever play with and I could not reproduce this rendering bug with vsync on!

The bug in snapshot 16w39a with lowest possible settings.

This appears to be rendering issue not a chunk loading issue.

A duplicate of what might I ask? The bug MC-90602 has described this as a chunk loading issue where this one is clearly not. The chunks are loaded for me just not being rendered... You shouldn't have resolved the issue if you do not understand the difference between loading and rendering.

Bigger problem is MIP mapping doesn't even work, there is no mipmapping at all in Minecraft version 1.8.7.

Dinnerbone said in a tweet that 16 chunk loading was available to users with 64 bit Java. He said that way back on Oct. 13, 2013. I don't know if that was ever even a valid statement because I sure haven't been able to go past 8 chunks even since that slider was introduced.

Does this happen in 13w22a? In singleplayer? Because I think my horse has gone invisible a couple of times. Either that or despawned with his saddle on and all tamed. Is there a way for me to find invisible entities using MC EDIT because I think I heard him but could not see him.

Though I would help.
What I expected to happen was...:
Your player mount the horse as you right click.

What actually happened was...:
The horse inventory screen came up and I was teleported beside the horse.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start up minecraft
2. Get a horse and tame it.
3. Bring up the horse inventory as you ride it and put a saddle on him.
4. Mount then unmount the horse until it no longer puts you on the horse. (This only took me about 3 tries then I have the restart the client not just the world)

It seems this may be back in 13w21a, but all I know is they are not spawning in newly generated chunks that previously spawned horses on a seed back in 13w19a.

This is not a duplicate of that because while I get 200 fps on my desktop pc I get these lag spikes while riding into terrain that is being generated. I assume this is about how minecraft holds you back until the game catches up again and pulls you way forward? not your 22 fps

Had this happen to me its just the texture pack lol I was using faithful too so didn't notice.

The FPS has been fixed in 1.5.1 so it is steady and high but maybe if the FPS were to ever drop again for any reason it would drop and look even worse than that FPS should look. However for the time being this bug is fixed.

I get better FPS in 1.5 with this fix than in 1.4.7 now! Still some lag spikes but it isn't this bug.

I would say this bug is fixed! I agree there is still some occasional studding but nothing to be worried about as long as its not amplified by anything.
