Destroying one that is renamed without relogging drops a regular minecart, with the same name. Though, placing it down and relogging still drops a minecart named "@".

This bug report appears to be two different bugs in one. The original bug report at its creation was that stationary minecarts played a rolling sound indefinitely, as shown in the video in the bug report's description. However, Avoma may have misinterpreted it as the subtitle for a stationary minecart (that, too, only when placed) falsely appearing, instead of the sound actually playing, as seen in his two attachments they added. This is also what the "duplicate" report MC-261788 was referring to; these issues have a clear difference.

Is there a way to reliably reproduce this? I'm having trouble with this.

Can confirm in 23w31a. It appears that (at least on Windows) many of the sprites' locations, including the spectator ones, have been changed to being located in their new folder. In addition, multiple sprites that were contained in one .png file were disambiguated in their new folders. This applies to the spectator icons, so the path was changed from

C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\versions\1.20.1\1.20.1.jar\assets\minecraft\textures\gui\spectator_widgets.png

to

C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\versions\23w31a\23w31a.jar\assets\minecraft\textures\gui\spectator\close.png
