Holy crap, I though losing a half stack of gold was bad; people are losing diamonds and netherite. Now I'm worried about my other worlds and just not touching them.
I have experienced this in Survival when I access my inventory, but it only occurs about 20-30 min into gameplay. I only notices that it crashes when the screen freezes and the sound stops coming out. Compared to the others it's not as bad, but I'm still grateful for the autosave.
I found that this issue is on consumables (food, zombie flesh) and also seeds.
I'm currently on Minecraft Beta 1.14.02 on the Xbox One and I can confirm that this bug still exists. I also have a video clip of me trying to make the cake and having the items for the cake disappear and the cake never being formed; I tried to make it via quick select instead of the classic crafting placement. After trying to craft the cake unsuccessfully I still got my Xbox achievement "The Lie" in crafting a cake. I also noticed that I was unable to craft anything else; I think the unsuccessful craft bugged the crafting menu, but I rebooted the game and I got my milk buckets back but they were empty and everything worked normally. I will try to upload my clip and provide a link. Not gonna try crafting a cake again for now.
Edit: so I'm unable to download the clip but I can share it via Xbox live.
I was laughing and crying when this happened to me; this is insanely funny.
Immediately took advantage of my situation by flying around the map and filling it in.
Flew into a waterfall, pressed 'A' to jump when I hit solid ground and I'm currently being jettisoned into the atmosphere. Cleared Y 4000 just now.
Update: exiting and re-entering the map mid flight will shunt you back down to Y 254 and you will stop flying up
