They are likely related but this behavior to me is extremely specific in that's it's exactly every 30 seconds on the dot, and is related entirely to the size of the world and it hits even if you aren't moving.

It would certainly be possible that the same problem causes this but it seems somewhat separate of lag from loading chunks as you're moving.

There seems to be movement on it just today.

There's a reddit comment from tomcc, one of the developers saying he's fixing it.

I've experienced this same bug again, now with a new world that's only 23 MB in size. This makes it all but impossible to travel any meaningful distance in a world.t

At first, I played in the world for a few weeks, traveled to the nether, but otherwise restricted my movements in the overworld. The game ran perfectly fine with no problems as far as performance or lag was concerned.

Yesterday, I crafted a fully zoomed out map and explored all four corners of the overworld, on the map, leaving the middle of the map empty. This increased the world size from around 12 MB to 24 MB. Ever since, my game now lags for 1-3 seconds every 30 seconds on my android samsung galaxy s6, which has 3 GB RAM and a 2.1 GHZ processor. While moving into and out of chunks I'll occasionally experience a great deal of lag, but that doesn't affect the 1-3 second lag that consistently arrives every 30 seconds on the dot.

This is making any world in which I explore the overworld even a little bit unplayable.

Yeah I've noticed that anything which changes the hotbar at all, even the durability of an item being lowered, also causes the xp bar to update.

Not a gamebreaking bug, but interesting.

Just yesterday playing single player in 1.1, I experienced this bug.

I was wearing protection IV enchanted diamond armor, and had previously logged out in the nether with a fire resistance potion running. Within a couple minutes of logging back in I was insta-killed by the first blaze that hit me. Not only did it instantly kill me, but it also instantly broke all of my protection IV diamond armor which had been recently crafted.

Perhaps there's a bug that causes the ranged attacks to enter into a infinite loop?

That's intended, actually: Potions of invisibility don't work against guardians and elder guardians of Ocean Monuments.

Actually, every single item gives the exact same set of enchantments (for each item) on restart.

The enchantment seed used to be set per world, now it's apparently resetting every time the world is reloaded.

Fortunately, after the first enchantment, as you noticed, the available enchantments are still random.

Right, it seems like when you first enter a world, you gain experience as if you were level 0, until you gain a level and then things work normally.

Also experiencing this on an android phone.

I am also having this same issue on a Samsung Galaxy S4 in version 0.12.1. In my survival game I've actually never been able to break nether wart in the two places I've seen it, either in the nether fortress where I found it and in my home in the overworld where I planted it.

@Richard You should probably just attach the images here. Both of your links 404.

That's odd... The launcher shouldn't have any effect unless it's downloading from a different location. Once you log in and updates are checked, the launcher closes and the actual mc.jar takes over. I use a cracked launcher for videoing myself (i have no friends) on a local offline mode server, and the textures look fine for me (or I wouldn't use it for videoing).

P.S. Afaik the cracked launcher only stops the password check, but doesn't mess with textures. I think the most likely problem here is that the cracked launcher is out of date, and is launching the main mc.jar in the old way. My custom launcher (made with hex edit on launcher 12) works perfectly fine.

This issue's title can be misunderstood. From what I can tell, he means that the player is still visible, but lags behind the minecart (if you read my first comment). It seems like a simple lag issue, but I think it's still an issue that should be fixed, probably by having the client detect when other players are in minecarts and by ignoring player coords and using (offsetting by the proper amt) the minecart's coords instead, or something of this effect, to make riding player's positions dependent on the minecart instead of being sent separately.

@John I didn't report anything, I was just asking for clarification.

Actually very likely in survival with mob pits. I had an inven full of seeds and bred chickens in a 20x10 room until I had a nice fluffy carpet, but then they all grouped and stuck in a corner next to a crafting table.

Is it just visual from 3rd person (appears fine to rider), 3rd and first (glitched to both viewer and rider), or both as well as physical (can't fit into 1x2 tunnel either)?

If it works fine on another computer then it must just be your computer. Try low settings. Chests/tables not opening or taking forever to open is usually network lag but if your computer is slow, it can be that too. You have already ruled out a minecraft issue by confirming that it works fine on another computer using the same network.

Were there spare doors nearby that weren't taken by other villagers?

Probably a lag issue, but annoying nevertheless.

On 1.5.1. So annoying because my floor is made of half slabs so anywhere I have crafting tables, my basement gets black spots.
