Confirmed affecting 1.21.5; in fact eyes of ender will continue to trigger this repeatedly as long as the the mouse click is held down in creative.

@potatowarrior906 AGAIN: Eyes of ender trigger this. Either there’s a discrepancy and they shouldn’t. or ender pearls should.

The same advancement trigger fires for using eyes of ender though? You do not need to hold the use button for those, they are a single-click item

I can see this bug being related to MC-170819 loosely at best, since both cover enchanted items; but this is a full disappearing act of the enchantment layer rendering on the helmet, as opposed to some transparent pixels in a texture file that cause the enchantment layer (and generated model) to extend past the visual texture of a sword.

Can confirm, also applies to warped doors.

Further testing shows this might be directional, as well. Placing cobble any type of wall in that order and configuration works as expected when facing east, but exhibits the bug when facing north.

An item in a hotbar != a block placed in the world. Feels like this would throw off consistency across UI interactions with blocks to me.

I explained that it makes sense that the advancement criteria doesn't trigger it since it's describing having completed sleeping in a bed. It doesn't fire until the player is removed from the bed after sleeping a night away.

 

Sleep in bed triggers as soon as a player has gotten in the bed.
