thank god its not just me - ive been lamenting the loss of my unfinished mega build but if this is a bug hopefully it'll get fixed for all of us.

after 1.18 my world (xbox one, single player) is technically playable... providing i'm nowhere near my base. if im near my base the lag escalates the closer i get to such a degree that its literally unplayable. cant dig, cant build, cant fight, cant fly, suffocating while in air, drowning while not in water. my character will rapidly jerk between standing, crouching, and swimming. the character marker on the map moves about 30 seconds after i do - i ran from some zombies and while nowhere near them they were still attacking and damaging me, but they were standing where my map marker was currently at, which is where i was 30 seconds earlier.

i've had a couple of random crashes since 1.14.1, but I was flying home after collecting 2 full bee nests and it crashed, and its now crashing every time on loading. crashes on the loading bar, a couple times before the loading bar, and at best I get to see a still image of my hands against the starry background before being dumped back to the dashboard. literally game breaking.

I don't know if this is even the same issue now but I haven't found a thread regarding it, and since it stems from this issue I'll post here:
1.2.8. my world converts, but the file size is still fluctuating. the highest conversion has still been 310mb out of 369mb. I have been playing in a converted file but I flew way out from the Xbox one world size and started anew in fresh wilderness. however, the file size continues to fluctuate, up and down, and even after the game and console has been switched off I've seen the file size go up or down. for all intents and purposes everything seems to work but a fluid file size indicates that is not the case.

mostly, but not quite fixed.
I did multiple conversions on 1.2.6 and now 1.2.7 and I still have a different file size on every conversion, the highest so far being around 320mb out of 369mb. I don't know if this persists in 1.2.7 but the file size would drop after playing the game, but I have noticed in 1.2.7 that just entering and exiting the options (before loading the world) drops the file size too.

1.2.6 on xbone, still not fixed. world converted 313mb out of 369mb

I can't speak for anyone else but this seems to have been fixed for me on xbone

with the world conversion problems I've only recently managed to get a successful-ish conversion, but I noticed very quickly captive farmers not farming (I've had these farmers for some time and they worked just fine, except for once on xbone edition but that was fixed in the next update).

does anyone have anything definitive on bedrock having smaller save files from converted worlds? I'm examining my world that converted 310mb from 369mb, and every time I save and quit the file size gets smaller. it went up as I flew around to 320mb, but after exploring some of the end (the central island was, understandably, regenerated) the file size dropped to 288mb!?!
additional to this is a severe problem of monster spawners only showing fire but no monster inside and thus no spawns (I have reported this in the relevant thread), but also something I think may be one reason for the smaller converted file - I've seen some blocks that have been changed like cobblestone turned back to stone, jack o'lanterns facing a different direction although this isn't a big problem, but a potentially big problem is that I broke a few blocks, of stuff I have built, and they didn't drop anything, making me think there's a ton of blocks in my world that are only there visually and if broken completely disappear.

I too am having this issue (as well as a bunch of other major issues since bedrock).
I never had any spawner block problems on xbone edition. I've been patiently waiting for world conversion to be fixed and I'm having a look through the most successful conversion I've had. I have a few monster spawners and they all worked fine when the game starts, but after some time they stop working and just show an on fire cage with nothing inside, except for a single silver fish spawner (so far). changing the settings to peaceful and back, or quitting and restarting the game doesn't change anything.

*I can confirm using newly (post conversion) crafted rockets while flying doesn't crash the game, so I can now have a proper examination of my world.
the conversion reset all my maps to the default textures and I've just flown by my first map overwriting the default texture with the one I use. since I was flying and the map was changing texture I can't be certain but I think there is changes to terrain, albeit very small changes, maybe a few trees here, a small stream there etc, but not anywhere I've built so far as I can tell.
but as I say, I can't be certain there is changes in terrain or me only thinking there is...*

yep, that's a separate bug. apparently it's caused by using fireworks crafted pre-conversion.

that might be the case but 3 conversions and 3 different file sizes...

3rd conversion converted 310 out of 369mb.
a casual look seems to show my overworld all there (at least my main base anyway). the stair glitch seems to have been a 1-off, but all my maps have been returned to the default texture pack, and only where I'm standing is the pack in use (it's not an issue really but i will have to redo every map 😛). would that account for the smaller file size, or is there a degree of compression going on, or are converted worlds supposed to be the exact same file size?

1.2.5 hasn't fixed it entirely. I converted again, and again it converted 1st time with no crashes, but this time it only converted 218mb from a 369mb file, 100mb less than the previous conversion.
so, still not fixed, but significant progress.

I don't know yet. 50mb may be a small bit of wilderness, the end, or in the middle of stuff I've built, and I've built a lot so it'll take some time to fully explore. I also have to see if I still have the pathfinding-lag problem.
at the very least it's significant progress for conversion, at least for me but I hope for everyone else too

xbox now on 1.2.5
I haven't had a proper a proper look because rocket powered elytra is still crashing the game, but my world conversion is the best it has been so far, but still not entirely there yet. the conversion was by far the longest any conversion attempt has taken, at 2 hours at least 5 times longer than the longest previous attempt, but it converted 1st time without any crashes or console resets. once loaded in there was no immediate crash (every previous successful conversion attempt resulted in a dashboard crash within 10 seconds of the world loading and required a second loading to play), and my base seems to be intact, which is a first, but when I tried to have a flyby the game crashed about 2 seconds after using a rocket. I will have to have a proper look though as my file is 369mb but converted it's only up to 319mb (but that's about double of any previous conversion).
additional, enchanted items now have a visual glitch and stair blocks at head level can be walked through, but overall there is definite progress, and when I go back to playing it I will happily live with these enchanted and stair glitches if world conversion , and the lag problem, is getting fixed.

what version is Xbox currently on? above says 1.2.5 and I've seen someone mention 1.2.6, but mine is still on 1.2.3...

question;
how has this issue been resolved? there hasn't been an update on xbox one since before this got 'resolved'.

I've had numerous attempts to convert either;
return to dash in the middle of conversion because Minecraft crashed,
dull/black screen during conversion which needs a hard reset (dull screen often affects the guide button in game also needing a hard reset),
straight up crashes,
or the console switches itself off in mid-conversion.
each one of these has happened multiple times, and the dull screen forcing hard reset also affects a new world.

I have noticed that the newly generated land has seemingly been reduced after one or two updates - there used to be an ocean monument spawning over the portion of my base that had a stronghold and end portal, now its just an ocean.

I dearly hope mojang get this fixed but I'm done with Minecraft until/unless it gets fixed. I tried playing a new world until old world conversion was fixed, but even in a fresh world the amount of problems, and the severity of problems have really screwed over this game and make playing it very unpleasant.

regarding the golems spawning outside my iron farm lag it may well be that they are trying to pathfind to my numerous captive villagers
