MCPE-121141 “An error occurred” Duplicate

Comments

I’m experiencing this issue on 1.19.0 for Xbox One. Villagers are disappearing when going from the nether into the overworld, whether being released from a vehicle like a minecart or a boat or being pushed through manually. The problem occurs whether on single player or in a Realm. The mobs do not reappear after using the portal several times. The problem still occurs if I reply before going through the portal. The problem occurs in many different places that I’ve tested around a copy of my world in creative mode, but the area where the issue was discovered is around the 32, 180, 180 area. I’ll try to get a world download into the thread asap.

Is it possible that this error message of “An error occurred” when attempting to download a world has multiple purposes/is a catch all error for multiple errors that can occur for different reasons?

The reason I ask is because I have found a workaround due to the fact that I’m also experiencing this bug: https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCPE-120270. In summary: My realm has resource packs applied and are visible in-game, but my list of active resource packs shows as empty. The minute I apply an additional resource pack, all of the other ones are deactivated in-game. The list still shows as empty, though. But when I do that, the world becomes downloadable again. The only problem with that is that I can’t apply resource packs reliably while the world is being used as a Realm. I can, however, use that as a workaround by downloading the world, and then applying resource packs to it as a regular world without issue, and then I can Replace World with that file.

So I’m mentioning that as a possible clue as to what could be causing this particular bug.

If anyone else is also experiencing the above linked bug, I would recommend trying the workaround detailed above. It seems I’m only able to download my world when I deactivate most/all of my resource packs.

This is happening to me on iOS 14.4 and Xbox One.

I was told recently that it has been known to be possible that issues on your realm can sometimes be caused by resource packs and/or behavior packs installed on other people’s realms that share the same hosting server. Is that true? If it is true, might you be able to move my realm to a new server to rule that out as a possible cause for this issue?

I’m experiencing the same issue. For me, the following also seems to be true:

1. My realm is already loaded with an array of resource packs that appear to be active in gameplay, but the only resource pack that is listed as Active in the realm settings is Global Resources.
2. When I attempt to activate any additional resource pack, it appears to activate and apply for my realm, however, the effects of all my other resource packs appear to become disabled by taking that action. And when I again look at the list of active resource packs, the only resource pack listed is still Gloabal Resources.
3. This issue does not affect normal worlds. So as a workaround, I’ve noticed that I can sometimes use the Replace World feature to sub in a local save that I’ve applied resource packs to, and that seems to replace my realm with a copy that has the resource packs I want applied to it. However, the list of active resource packs is still empty with the exception of Global Resources, and the problems described in the above notes are still a barrier. In addition to that, the Download World feature (as well as the download button in Backups both) very frequently now fail citing “An error occurred” as the reason. I haven’t been able to succeed with this workaround since the day of the update’s release because of the download error.

The resource pack issue as well as the world download issue both began occurring for me the day I updated to 1.16.210.

Edit: Handfuls of other online users have shared with me that they’re not experiencing this issue and another user expressed suspicion that this may be caused by the server on which my realm is hosted. Further, that issues that affect other realm owners can on rare occasion be caused by resource and behavior packs applied by other realm owners on the same server. Might you investigate whether this is the case and potentially move my realm to a different server as a way to rule that out as the source of the problem?
