Confirmed to affect 1.8.0. Screenshot attached. Now persists to use ~40 to ~80 percent CPU even after Minecraft has run out of CPU space and has crashed. Please note, this screenshot was taken two minutes after Minecraft crashed and has been persistent, from starting MC, all the way until two minutes after MC has crashed.

Read the comments in my ticket. It should help you get your worlds back.
I made MCPE-37431, and, from your report, I had the exact same issue and got as annoyed as you, but they're trying their best. And the game is not faulty, but your computer is probably so. I also spent months on my world, and when I lost it, I flipped out. Mine was only about ~20MB. (If you don't believe me, read my description, mostly the 4 edits)
My computer just stopped booting about a week ago, but luckily I had a backup, so I restored it. A few days after that, all my worlds disappeared. They are NOT in the minecraftWorlds folder. They were all safely in the folder the day before. I have not hard booted my computer or anything of the sort. I have also not cleaned my computer.
Please move this over to the BDS tracker
Also, the seed was 32800 as well as getting a bonus map upon joining. Also, experimental gameplay was disabled
The world looks like it has some great resemblance, but I think I had over 25XP levels and a full set of armor as well as being on Peaceful. This might be another bug, but when I opened it, there were about 2,000 in game ticks of lag. Also, some villagers were partially black after the ticks caught up.
No, the only things that happened were me editing the level_name file and the game quitting. I really need this world, so anything is appreciated.
Try this:
If you have cheats enabled, press / and type
gamerule mobGriefing true
The world is on Drive
Sorry about that. world (2).zip
This also happens to me. I think it shows what you're destroying.
UPDATE: The above issue has not been fixed by editing the contents of the level_name file. I have uploaded the world:
[media]Please note, that some of the worlds are not appearing in the world list. Their level.dat files are the normal level.dat, not level.dat_new. I believe I may have it narrowed down to the level_name.txt file. It says it contains 11 bytes, however, there is nothing in it. I have edited the contents to say "Main World". I will check now to see if it has resolved the issue.
THANKS SO MUCH!
What do you mean?
Not as common, but still affects 1.8.0.
