Note
This issue is caused by third-party game overlay apps. Please disable Discord overlay, Steam overlay, Riva Tuner, etc. for Minecraft: Java Edition.

The bug
Items like saplings, flowers, vines, cobwebs, dripleaf, sugar cane, rails and any non-full block with similar properties cause constant z-fighting, it doesn't matter if they where manually placed or world-generated
This issue also makes the water rendering glitchy, rendering differently depending on the viewing angle, and makes the inner part of a block visible in spectator mode
After restarting the game it stopped happening, but just leaving and entering the world again didn´t help

i allowed myself, since i've got the same problem, to post the screenshot with F3
Cannot reproduce in 21w14a, Linux x64, GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (Driver Version 460.67) and fancy graphics settings.
I am also unable to reproduce this issue in 21w15a using, GeForce GTX 1660/PCIe/SSE2 with "Fabulous!" graphics settings.

I tried reinstalling the entire game and it still wasnt fixed

Still able to reproduce this too in 21w16a

Not fixed per [MC-225368]
I suspect that this issue is a duplicate of MC-220690 as the normal rendering state does not allow back-face culling to be disabled for these blocks, and the only time we've managed to observe this occurring incorrectly is with the 3rd party apps that cause MC-220690
Please may anyone able to reproduce this issue also test for MC-220690 by entering spectator mode and flying under the ground?

I have this issue too, and here are some screenshots. Also @[Mojang] Felix Jones it does appear to be the same bug, as I tried flying under the ground in spectator and saw the same thing. I also experienced the Z-fighting, and have screenshots of that on my duplicate bug report MC-227151

Issue was being caused by Overwolf. :/

I've disabled all overlay apps that I know and it's still happening.

still happening on 1.19.2

If you're sure that your issue isn't related to overlay apps, you should probably create a new bug report.
Make sure to check that MC-220690 doesn't describe your issue.

I've updated the title of this ticket to be more suiting so when future reports are resolved as duplicates of this one, it's clear to the given user what the problem is and what it's caused by.
