Sloped rails can stay raised when adjacent rails are pulled upwards by a sticky piston

The bug

Using sticky pistons, minecart rails can be ''elevated'' or put into the up-going position. It works on any type of rail, as long as the middle one is a regular one. For example, imagine a view from above; powered rail - rail - detector rail.

Both the powered and the detector rail will be lifted whilst destroying the default one. It won't however work if all 3 rails are the same, except if all 3 are default rails.

Is this still a concern in the latest Minecraft version 14w30c? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

Update: Issue is still active in version 14w30c. All rail types behave in the same way as previously described.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version 1.8.1 Prerelease 3 / Launcher version 1.5.3 or later? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

No response for over a year.

Thommy Siverman

This behaviour has changed since the creation of this issue.

Now, only regular rails adjecent to the lifted rail will be raised to diagonal, regardless of the lifted rails type.
Powered rails will either break or be unaffected.
