Villagers don't farm or work.

The villagers in single player do not behave the same way as their multiplayer counter part. Example: Multiplayer villager farms and breeds, the single player version doesn't farm, pick up items, or even breed without aid. These villagers are spawned from a spawn egg in the 14w30c.

I was working on building a city for the villagers sort of like the Sims. The villagers were not reproducing at all giving it was an update I went out to new territory where the rabbits were spawning and went /gamemode 1 to build Docm77's infinite villager creation. It worked great for him but I needed a lot of villagers. I went to sleep to wake up to seeing the same 3 villagers (farmers) in the bottom pen.

A link to Docm77's video is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFL1K41yKUs&list=UU4O9HKe9Jt5yAhKuNv3LXpQ to build the contraption. The problem is as stated above the farmers are not farming the crops and they are not reproducing any offspring. This is in the single player version & I tested it out on a fresh new world and I get the same result.

To reproduce this bug follow Docm77's video tutorial on how to get infinite villagers for 14w30c. This must be done in a single player world to reproduce the bug.

This is my log file for the end of my session.

Does this happen in 14w31a?

Confirmed that this does happen in 14w31a

Still not fixed in 14w32a?

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases. If this has been done, we can reopen the issue.

Keep in mind that the "Resolved"-Status on this ticket just means "Answered", and that we are waiting for further information on whether this issue still exists or not. We will reopen it as soon as the requested information has been delivered.

Why is this open again? When you turn mobGriefing to false the villagers don't farm, you turn it on they do. Simple Solution: Don't touch the Game Rules. If you change the game rule keepInventory to true they will farm but not pick anything up, thus nothing gets planted. Again the solution to this problem is to leave the game rules alone and use a command block to nullify creeper damage. The same for Endermen use a commandblock to nullify the damage to the terrain in doing this you can safely leave the game rules alone. Need the command lines for the command blocks? Google them. Sometimes I wonder why I even posted this.

This wasn't open, it was awaiting response, and since you commented, the bot reopened it
