Minecraft won't use dGPU

Minecraft won't use the dedicated GPU on my laptop, despite having set the GPU in both NVIDIA Control Panel and the Windows 10 graphics settings.  The issue is specific to Minecraft as the other games I have installed respect the setting.  Regardless of the setting, Task Manager always shows the GPU Engine as GPU 0.  This is causing significant performance issues in the game.  All graphics drivers and the OS are up to date.  Here are my system specs:

Dell XPS 15 9570
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-8950HK CPU @ 2.90GHz
32.0 GB RAM
GPU 0: Intel UHD Graphics 630
GPU 1: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with Max-Q Design

Pretty sure if I disable my integrated card my display will stop working.

Any update on this?  Minecraft performs very poorly on my machine despite the fact that it's a fairly beefy laptop, and I would just like to be able to play the game without problems.

@OcelotOnesie - I no longer have the computer with this issue.  My new computer as a 3050 Ti, and it does not have this issue.

As suggested by OcelotOnesie, I think the issue here is with how Task Manager reports Minecraft's resource usage, and not with Minecraft failing to use the dGPU. I recently added a 1050 ti to my PC that has Intel HD 630 integrated graphics, and Task Manager shows 0% GPU usage for Minecraft on the "Processes" tab. However, the Preview debug text shows the 1050 ti and, more to the point of whether the game is actually using the GPU, the "Performance" tab in Task Manger shows 10-20% 3D usage on for the 1050 ti while Minecraft is running.

I get really low GPU usage on my RTX 3060 but my CPU is working a lot more.
