After the update to iPadOS 16.1.1 the game has started quickly getting into a state where it is unplayable with a mouse. After opening a chest a few times, when returning to the game outside of the UI the cursor will eventually fail to hide and will end up being able to interact with the borders of the screen, exiting the game on the bottom, notifications on the top, etc.
killing and restarting Minecraft does not appear to get it back in a good state, but resetting the tablet seems to temporarily get it to work as expected until the issue reoccurs (iPadOS bug?)
This occurs on an iPad Pro (11-inch) (4th generation)
Keyboard: Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad (Bluetooth)
Mouse: Basilisk C HyperSpeed (Bluetooth)

I have the same issue with Logi MX Master 3 and K480 with v1.20. iPad restart fixes it, but after using few times of the esc button, the problem appears again.
Thank you for your report!
However, this issue has been temporarily closed as Awaiting Response.
Is this still an issue in the latest version? If yes, can you please add it to the affected versions (or mention it if you are not the reporter)?

Reproduced the problem on 1.20.15
This behavior seems to be tied to usage of the Esc key on keyboard to close inventories and get to pause menu. If you avoid using the Esc key, i.e. exclusively using a bound key like ‘C’ or ‘E’ to open and close inventory or using touch screen to try to get to the pause screen the problem does not occur.
In my short test, using Esc to exit inventories did not quickly reproduce the problem so needs further testing; however, hitting escape to get to the pause screen first gets you into a mode where trying to click, seems to ‘zoom in’ on the screen instead of clicking the targeted buttons, but switching to touch screen to click the button to get back into the game, the mouse was then behaving like the attached video from before.
From my experience, this issue can be reproduced by opening and reopening the game a few times, eventually the mouse cursor won't lock to the screen.
The amount of mouse cursor related bugs on iOS is insane. There is this (MCPE-164387), where the mouse works but the cursor doesn't lock, but there is also MCPE-165497 where the mouse refuses to work at all after pressing Escape. There is also a bug where the cursor works for looking around but in UIs it is not detected until you click. Not to mention the bugs on iPhone, and MCPE-156437, MCPE-51263, and with the new Magic Keyboard (MCPE-181558). Hoping these bugs can be addressed with an update in the not-too-distant future.
It’s almost 2 years since this issue has been posted and there still no progress? How come?
I recently bought an ipad and decided to play minecraft using a keyboard and mouse. It’s an ipad pro 11 m4 btw, for reference. But when I started to play, I encountered this issue where the mouse pointer is still visible from the screen. And instead of of using the cross symbol which is in the center of the game, the actions is triggered using the mouse pointer which is btw not permanently staying in the center of the screen. Which is causing issue when playing.
Just want to mention that I also tried it in iPhone and encountered the same issue.
I love Minecraft and been playing this for many years. I bought this game for every platform I get my hands into like PC, Switch, PS4, and also have it in IOS ans Android. So I’m just disappointed that I don’t get the same satisfaction when I played it in ipad.
Having the exact same issue with iPad and mouse. There needs to be a way to hide the mouse cursor when playing. It sways across the screen and interrupts and interferes with game play, sometimes ending the game. Super frustrating. There needs to be a way to hide the mouse cursor completely on Bedrock iOS.
I see a similar report in recent comments on ticket MCPE-51263 w/recording demonstration. There is mention of running into this issue on terraria forum also
*REPORTED* - iPad keyboard and mouse glitch IPadOS 16.1 Terraria Community Forums with mention of it affecting them in Minecraft and suggesting it is related to ESC key on keyboard being used.
