Mouse is completely disregarded from settings and cannot click or interact with anything

After the update originally dropped, my mouse and my mousepad has completely stopped working for minecraft. I can see it on my screen, but it physically cannot click or scroll in any way and I am forced to navigate with my keyboard only. My mouse works perfectly fine outside of minecraft, and I have tried every fix in the book so it seems this issue stems from the new update that broke everything and caused lots of outages, especially considering this started exactly when the outages did. Very little people are also having this issue, however I have met a few people with an identical experience.

I also have checked my minecraft settings and my attack and interact keybinds have been completely removed from them. Instead of attack/interact being labeled left click or right click, they're set as a default “button1” and “button2”. I've tried setting my keybinds back to default and nothing changes. I hope to find more people with this problem so it can eventually be fixed, because this is incredibly upsetting.

Hey, have you found any way to fix this or are you still waiting? I'm having what looks like the same issue, except I only just encountered it yesterday, when my game suddenly closed while I was playing on my friends realm. It also broke my desktop shortcut and got rid of my classic skins in my dressing room. I made my own report but I didn't realize you made this one, so it got closed and marked as a duplicate.

hi! i did actually fix this! if you open your minecraft you should be getting a really quick error message flash on your screen, i missed it the first like 20 times i opened my game, however it should be telling you to run GameInputRedist.msi which is basically the whole program that connects mouses or controllers to your game.

the way i did this was by opening my task manager and finding GamingServices, right clicking it, and clicking Open file location, after that i found GameInputRedist and clicked it, it prompted me to install so i did. after that, i gave my computer a click restart and it started working again! i hope this helps for you :)

Thankyou so much. So I have found the file in my system, but trying to run it wont work. It just immediately closes and never fixes anything 😕

If you don't have any other suggestions, then thankyou for trying atleast

how long did you wait inbetween installing it and restarting your computer? when i installed mine it would ask to install but i'd never actually see it happen. i'd suggest trying again and then giving it a few minutes, just incase you might not be giving it enough time to install.

unfortunately this is really my only suggestion besides some basic stuff google would tell you, such as updating your mouse drivers etc. i've had this work for multiple other people so maybe try my suggestion before completely ruling it out, unless you have already. i hope you find something that works for you!

A temporary solution i can offer is to revert to version 1.21.114; its not that difficult. You just need an .appx file.
