This bug exists in both Split Touch and Normal controls.

It is worth noting that you also cannot break blocks while holding food.

In my tests, I've always been able to eat (with touch, xperia play, split controls, third person etc) even though I have to hold a couple of seconds. But the title of this ticket is correct, and the animation was missing.

Ok, then I definitely reopen the ticket 🙂. The fix will only be partial, as it fixes the animation, but not anything else.

If you actually couldn't eat before, you cant do it now either. Will look into it when I find a device where it happens.

If you hold down for 2-3 seconds, you will have health restored. There is still no animation.

Confirmed on iPad Mini with Split Touch controls.

Aron, now i can eat in the game 😃, i just hold down from 2-3 sec, so, the only bug was the eating animation

I don't know if I should have made a new ticket. I have an issue where the crunching sound while eating eventually disappears while eating but you can hear the 'burp' at the end still. It happens after a little while on muliplayer. Windows 10 and an android are used. Occurs for all players. Both LAN and Live.
