Grass not spreading

Grass is not spreading in my sheep pen so they can grow their wool back. I stood beside the pen for 20 real time minutes and nothing spread.

Please can we do something about this soon? Not only is it a pain when dealing with sheep, it's frustrating to build and know the grass simply takes hours in real-time to finally finish spreading. It doesn't match the Java Edition at all and has zero purpose to be like this.

Agreed. I've had several builds in limbo because my sheep are not growing back their wool so I do not have enough to finish.

I really hope they do something about this. I was enjoying the Bedrock edition until I saw that my sheep couldn't regrow their wool because the grass growth has become horrendous.

I can confirm this issue as well. Since the btu came out EVERYTHING takes much longer to grow than they did on Xbox one edition. I started a new world when btu released. Chopped down trees, and replanted saplings in the same place as originally generated and some of them still have not grown... I cleared any tall grass/flowers around them and still nothing... I made a oak tree farm roughly 30x30 with optimal conditions fro growing, 7 blocks between trees torch centered between trees, raised the dirt block trees are planted on one higher than the rest of the ground and nothing... So then I go to the bonemeal, I run through up to a stack and a half before some of them will grow... I don't want to say anything bad about btu but Microsoft/Mojang needs to just slow down and fix the problems, ensure they cause no other bugs, then release an update... This cycle of here's a bug ridden update and now here's another update to fix those issues but introduce another set of bugs and ignore fixes that apply to playability is getting old. Some bugs are expected, sure but we are seeing releases that are a pain to even play... Is there testing happening before release in real world's people care about investing time into. It doesn't feel like it... An update releases and instantly I notice problems, how does this get by beta... I play about an hour a day, 4 to 5 days a week and I can see problems that seem to be getting by people who are paid to test this thing before release, doesn't sound right...

I just ran a quick test to ensure that I'm not going crazy.

On both Java Edition 1.12.2 and Bedrock Edition 1.4.2 on my Windows 10 PC, I created new worlds, set the time to day, turned off daylight cycle and created a 6x6 square of Dirt above a flat Grass Plains biome. I started a timer, and at just around 7 minutes, Java Edition was already finished spreading. Meanwhile in the same amount of time, Bedrock hadn't even reached the halfway mark (16 of 36 blocks).

Very clearly, the speed is still much slower than what it needs to be. It isn't unreasonable, but it can make certain builds very frustrating when you don't have access to Silk tools.

Hope this can be looked into by Mojangstas.Β πŸ™‚

I"m playing bedrock Win 10 snapshot 1.10.0.4. Grass will not spread. I've even increased the random tick speed to 100. Plants grow very quick. Everything else is fast, but I've had the same pattern of grass in my area for days (in-game days) and hours real-time.

@@unknown We are tracking that issue within the beta (1.10.0.4) as MCPE-41198.

Thank you! I'll follow that ticket as well.
