Paid customers have a reasonable expectation for a timeline of fixes. Right now ‘better together’ effectively breaks network play for the majority of Appletv users. Everyones expectation for platform minecraft is that things just work. In canada the Minecraft software sells for $27.99. Thats a lot to pay for crippled functionality. Please post timelines for a fix.

+1 bought this forsaken version, bought it also for desktop, iOS, and android. My kids get so frustrated that this doesn't work right on the apple tv, it's really pathetic that one of the most expensive versions is the least supported.

What I find really amazing is the lack of consideration with us, costumers. Not even a comment saying that, for example: "Sorry, but we don't know when the update is coming". Nothing! What are we?

I'm sorry you're not getting timely responses to your questions here. Please understand that the reason is that this is a bug tracker, not a customer support site. The software is designed for bug reporting and tracking, not for conversation management. We aren't notified of new comments unless we're actively tracking a ticket, which we only do until we have enough information to pass on to the developers. But this isn't a report of a bug in the game, it's either a problem with the app store or a complaint about not receiving the game you expected. I'm afraid neither of those is within our purview, so there was no reason to track this ticket. I only happened to notice your recent comments by chance.

You should have been given some kind of response back in October, probably to say that this ticket is invalid (because it's not about a bug in the game) and a redirect to a customer support site. I expect that what happened is the people who initially looked at it realized it wasn't a proper bug report but didn't have any answers for you, so they left it for somebody who might know more...and nobody knew more, so it fell through the cracks. That would be a failure if this were a customer support site, but again we aren't one. We don't deliberately ignore your comments, but answering questions that aren't about bugs isn't really what we're supposed to be focusing on and we have no tools for managing it.

I'm afraid the only thing we on the bug tracker can give you is the following links to the Mojang Support Twitter feed and the Minecraft Discord, where you can ask for an update on the plans for Minecraft on Apple TV.

This is not a bug. The current version for Apple TV is 1.1.5. Apple TV has not received recent updates due to development issues; no other information or ETA is known.

@ProfessorValko While it may not be a bug, as you can see there are a lot of frustrated users here who paid for this version of the game without knowing that updates are potentially discontinued, and Mojang aren't willing to say one way or the other whether this version will ever be updated again. If this issue is closed, someone else is bound to make another one. At least this way they can link duplicate issues to this one.

Update Aquatic is out on many platforms, and coming soon to most of the remaining platforms - Apple TV is strangely absent from their list.

As confirmed by Helen herself in an email to ibxtoycat, Minecraft: Apple TV Edition ran into a bug in 1.2 which affected saved games. Instead of holding back the whole update, they decided to bring the update to other platforms until they got the bug worked out. It's a difficult bug to fix, and as of this email, they've been deploying more devs to work on it. If the Better Together update still hasn't been released it's because 1) they're still trying to fix it, or 2), which is very unlikely, the project has been abandoned. As previously mentioned by a moderator, the correct place to be complaining about it is in an email to Mojang Support. If you want to play with someone right now, the Better Together update is on various other platforms. Xbox and Switch also support split-screen multiplayer if that interests you.

I think it's a hard sell trying to convince someone to buy the same game again at full price on another platform given the experience they have had with the Apple TV version. Perhaps they should consider a discount for Apple TV players to buy the game on another platform as a peace offering.
