(Fix in Progress, in beta)
The Minecraft Official Community Realm had a very bad lag and framerate loss, we worked for a few hours after the new 1.9 update VIA (Xbox) to come to a conclusion,
This issue occurred after 1.9 dropped yesterday.
A 13X13 map wall was the culprit after removing them 1 by 1 the issue subsided and lag and framerate loss was gone.
So this is for a report regarding a bug with Maps and that many in a centralized location.
Also : Jukebox may have issues with pickblock and use of it if you get to near it, and may cause crash of players game on xbox.

@unknown
Jay, asked to post this as a bug, since we are Volunteer Moderators for the Official Community Realm 🙂
Oki doki 😃
Moved to the Bedrock section as this issue was reproducible in a local copy of the world also. Updating title.

I am experiencing this in a realm with version 1.14.60. I built a 28 block diameter round building with multiple floors. The ceiling of the lower floor is a lit up white drop ceiling created by placing Jack o'Lanterns on top of slabs, then removing the slabs and placing an item frame and map on the bottom of each Jack o'Lantern. The maps were created by levelling an entire 128x128 (map size) tundra field to create an all white map. Then used an anvil to change the map name to a space character, then made enough copies of the map to cover the ceiling. The top of the Jack o'Lanterns is covered with carpet and is the floor of the second story. Now I see lag when eating food or breaking blocks. When breaking blocks the item breaks but jumps around for several seconds before it finally falls to the ground. The attachment Minecraft 4_19_2020 10_10_22 shows the room with the large map filled ceiling.

I've tracked the lag effect on a nearby furnace piston feed tape. With the ceiling maps in place the four pistons would cycle once every 5.5 seconds. After removing the 418 maps, but leaving the item frames in place, the piston feed tape would cycle every 1.7 seconds. So the maps were causing 3.5x slower piston operation as well as other overall lag. It should be noted that two other players on the Realm, hundreds to thousands of blocks away reported bad lag when the maps were in place. One reported that he couldn't even fire a bow.

Having the same issue on our Realm running 1.14.6 on Xbox One. Do we have any fix?

This issue is reportedly fixed in the Beta test release. Unless a serious flaw with the fix is discovered, it will likely be included in the next public release. However, no date can be given for the release.
Resolving issues that were marked as fixed in the 1.15 and 1.16 Betas, now that 1.16.0 is being released.
When investigating this on Windows 10 there was very little to no lag. I'm currently running on HP Intel Core i7 Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070. Switching over to Xbox X frame rate was very low. Freezing at times. While removing maps in the 13x13 frame. Frame rate was not noticeably better until we got to our last row of 13 maps. The notebook would crash players game when pick blocking on both versions. Had to break and replace to be able to pick block.
