I am unable to host a Multiplayer Game on Minecraft iOS while on Data. I have Use Cellular Data enabled in settings. When I open my world making sure that Multiplayer Game is on, my friends are not able to join. If I go into the settings without leaving the world and then go into multiplayer, the Multiplayer Game toggle is off and can't be turned on. I am able to join normal Minecraft Servers like Mineplex just fine.
Steps:
Disable WiFi and go onto Cellular Data
Go into Minecraft
Ensure that Use Cellular Data is on in the settings
Load up the world ensuring that Multiplayer Game is toggled on
Load the world. At this point, my friends do not see my world in the Friends category and inviting them does nothing.
Go into pause, settings, then multiplayer. Multiplayer game will be off.
Edit: Still occurs on the newest update 1.11.1

This is sad, I purchase this game to play with friends a few days ago. I have this problem on Android. Wish they would recognize this problem and find a solution.
I used to be able to play on cellular data, so this isn’t a “port” issue. This is Minecraft’s issue. If it worked at one point, then it’s their problem. Also it’s annoying that they haven’t done A THING except combine tickets a year later. They at less should have said something.
also this site is wicked buggy
MCPE-55405 for message "You must be connected to wifi to play with your friends" when attempting to connect to an external server but connected to cellular data / LTE. MCPE-55405 is marked as resolved, but it is not. MCPE-55405 refers to this ticket, and some of the previous comments in this ticket seem to be more related to MCPE-55405.
Cant connect to external internet server when on cell data on windows 10 edition latest (1.16.201). marketplace and other in-game internet connections work fine.
I'm trying to play with a friend over cellular data whenever I'm not around wifi. We are both signed into our Microsoft accounts, set our settings to cellular data enable in the settings.
Before starting the world, my world settings is set to multiplayer so it's on, but when use cellular and I go into my world and go to multiplayer settings it is turned off and grayed out so I can't change it.
I pause the game and have no invite option under my name when I use cellular. When I'm using wifi I have the option to invite people. My iOS settings are enabled that I can use cellular and so are theirs.
They always play on cellular data and it ONLY lets them join my world when I'm connected to wifi. Never with cellular..I makes no sense sense there's a setting to USE cellular data instead of wifi😞
Last week I was able to play with my cellular data and invite them with no issues. I was able to see the invite button under my name when I was not using wifi.
Im on iOS and so are they with the latest software update and with the latest game update..
I don't know why it's not working anymore😞 is there anyone that can help us out? Much appreciated.
Partially fixed in 1.17.0.52 - the game still switches off the multiplayer toggle when loading a world
It also happen in Minecraft Android. I play minecraft v1.16.221 hotfix but it is not fixed. I know it is fixed Minceraft bedrock beta v1.17.0.52 and later. It's ok but what about Minecraft current non-beta version. It also needs to be repaired. Because of this problem, I have to download minecraft bedrock beta for Android and asked my friend to join beta. After this bug is fixed, I will leave beta and ask my friend to leave beta as it lags too much but I and my friend will join it when we want to use minecraft beta features.
