Unable to upload addons to realm

Same issue is occurring for me as well. I will go to activate new (working) add-ons and get stuck in the same loop with the upload screen.

This issue seems to effect any recourse / datapack.
I thought it was just my own behaviour pack that was the problem but I did try with other packs and nothing was working

I also have tried multiple different resource packs and have the same outcome.

This is the loop we are referring to. The only way to get out of the loop is to close the application. The result being, no changes applied to the resource pack/s.

I am now having this exact issue.  Just started within the past couple days and cannot fix it.  Please fix this.  I have a realm and use my own resource pack that the members love.  No add ons are working for the realm at all

Hey there. I have added a video clip from start to finish on how to replicate the glitch. First I create a new server and upload to the realm without any addons. They I add an addon and show how the loop glitch starts. I have uploaded the video to YouTube as it was above 10.00mb. Also, a complete reinstall of Minecraft has no effect. I am also running this on the latest version of Windows 11.

EDIT: This also happens on Minecraft Pocket Edition. No resource or behavior packs can be added.

Affects 1.19.20 as well. I just started a new family realm and get this trying to add one player sleep addon. Have to exit MC and then the addon isn't actually applied to the world. Tried applying before upload but as mentioned, doesn't stay on the world after upload

I also have the same problem when adding new addons to the realms but when I upload addons that I had previously uploaded there is no problem, they upload and load well and I checked with other realms that I have and the problem was perceived, I even tried reinstalling minecraft and it did not solve the problem The problem is that it only stays loading, reviewing the addon folders, both the resources package and the behavior package. This creates a .zip where the addon files are saved to upload it to the ream. When entering the .zip, all the addon files are seen, but I realized Note that in the new addons that I have not uploaded, this creates another .zip inside the . zip which I get an error when trying to open it I don't know if that has something to do with it but in the other addons that I uploaded previously it only generates a .zip file and when I open it I only get the addon files normally

Same issue. My current realm has a resource pack that needs updating to the latest version but can't because of the 'upload loop'. Problem noticed after the 1.19.20 release.

After some additional research, I found a bug that suggested limiting my upload speed to 3.5 Mb/s. I did this via an app called NetLimiter and it then resolved my issue. First time I have ever seen an issue caused by my internet being 'too fast' lol

Please share which platforms you are seeing this issue on, especially if you are able to resolve the issue via slowing down your internet via NetLimiter or a VPN. Thanks! 

New data to consider based on limiting upload speed.

Steps to Reproduce (PC):

1. Download "NetLimiter 4"

2. Limit Minecraft's Out to 3mb or under.

3. Select "Edit World" under Realm Settings

4. Select "Resource Packs" under Add-Ons

5. Click "Activate" on a pack that has not been uploaded to the server.

6. Check the box labeled "Require players to accept resource packs to join"

7. Click back arrow in top left-hand corner

Observed Results:

1. "Export in Progress" {Non-highlighted green progress bar}

2. "Initializing Upload" (No progress bar and clickable "Cancel" Button)

3. "All Done!" (Non-highlighted green progress bar, labeled "0.00mb     20.1mb" and clickable "Let's Go!" Button){*}{*}

4. Returns to Edit World settings page upon clicking "Let's Go!"

5. Prompt in top left corner states "Failed to set force resource value" ((Note: this only shows when limiting upload))

6. Clicking Back arrow in top left-hand corner starts observed results back over from step 1.

Expected Results:

1. Export in progress has active loading bar

2. Initializing Upload has the correct size information and loads to completion.

3. All Done! Let's Go has a completed upload bar.

4. Clicking Let's Go brings you back to Edit World

5. Clicking Back arrow takes you back to the Realm Settings.

6. Loading into world has new resources/textures.

7. ((Note: Expected Results subject to false remembrance))

Do we know how long it might take for this issue to be fixed?

For additional context, I'm currently experiencing this issue on the Minecraft Bedrock for Windows 10, with the 1.19.20 update (just checked and still experiencing this issue). I'm running the game on Windows 11 Pro, version 21H2. 

Unlike other commenters, I have attempted to run NetLimiter to see if this resolves the issue and it does not. I am also not using a VPN. I have noticed that this is only happening with packs that I have not installed in previous versions of Minecraft (prior to the 1.19.1/1.19.2 updates). 

Steps Observed when attempting to upload a resource pack that was in use prior to the updates:

1) After uploading fresh world into a realm, Go into Realms menu, click "Edit World"

2) Navigate to Resource Packs/Behavior Pack menu.

3) Select add on, click "activate"

4) Click Back arrow in the upper left corner of the screen

5) Dialogue Box appears reading "Applying Packs. This may take a few moments" (exact wording subject to false remembrance) 

6) I have now returned to the Realms Menu (the one with the "Play" and "Manage Realm" buttons at the top of the screen).

Steps Observed when attempting to upload a resource pack that was NOT in use prior to the updates:

1) After uploading fresh world to realm, Go into Realms menu, click "Edit World"

2) Navigate to Resource Packs/Behavior Pack menu

3) Select add on, click "activate"

4) Click Back arrow in the upper left corner of the screen.

5) Dialogue Box appears reading "Initializing upload" with nonhighlighted progress bar and "Cancel" button.

6) Text in box changes to "All done!", still with a nonhighlighted progress bar. Button now reads "Let's Go"

7) Click on "Let's Go" button

8) Game returns to the "Edit World" screen.

9) Click on Back arrow in the upper left corner of the screen 

Repeats Steps 4-8 infinitely. Only able to escape this loop by closing the game entirely. 

I have been experiencing the same issue since the 1.19.1 update. I've tried testing on multiple operating systems (Windows 10 Home/Pro and Windows 11) and my Xbox One, and it's clearly an issue with the Realm/Game itself. I've tried using NetLimiter to no avail, it simply slows the loop down a bit but ultimately yields the same result.

That being said, I'm a little confused...If I'm reading the Workflow chart correctly, someone preemptively closed the issue without verification and now it's on hold?

Response from @unknown - There's nothing to indicate the issue is "on hold". Please review the Bug Tracker Guidelines to see how issues are tracked in the various projects.

I've noted that behavior/resource packs that have been recently uploaded to a realm prior to this bug can be activated/deactivated without a problem. It seems new packs (or packs that aren't cached anymore) trigger the behavior.

Confirmed that there are no issues testing resource and behavior packs locally on 1.19.20 Bedrock on PC, but the Owner gets stuck in the loop described above when trying to apply packs to a realm slot world. Even closing and exiting the app after the upload message is complete does not result in successful application of the pack.

Recommend this be escalated to Cornerhard and the Realms Team. This is a new bug that wasn't happening previously in the last update. I know the realms team made changes to rendering distance, so this may or may not be related to any changes made on the backend.

The way to get around this is by downloading a copy of the realm, then adding the resource/behavior packs to the local copy. Then edit the realm and replace the world with the copy you downloaded

@alaciel I have already tried this with multiple attempts. I believe this may already be mentioned earlier in this thread, but just in case, when attempting this strategy it will only upload the load save of the world and not the resource pack. One other point worth noting is I am trying to upload a texture/resource pack with a UUID that was never uploaded prior the last update when this "loop" bug issue arose. In regards to behavior pack add-ons I haven't attepmted.

The download and replace / upload of the world is not working either.  I can run the local copy just fine.  It will not complete the upload to the realm with the add-ons installed.

This bug still occurs in the newest hotfix update 1.19.21. However instead of going to the upload screen and having an empty bar below the "All Done!" screen, it instead goes to the "Applying Packs" screen (shown below) and then the "Some of the Selected Content Could Not Be Applied" Screen.

After applying hotfix update 1.19.21 on Windows 10, I still get the original behavior (Initializing upload -> All done/Let's go -> back to add-on screen with no changes).

I have been having the same issue with the realms addons I spent 5 hours trying to upload a pack to my realm and going through the uploading process the way it is supposed to work was causing me to be stuck in the same repeated loop as mentioned previously, I tried both methods by downloading the world and uploading it to the realm through replacing and I found a way around this bug. I was able to eventually upload my addon to the realm by making a copy of the realm and completely resetting the world in the realm's world selection converting it back to a fresh world. I then added my addon to the copy I made of the world before resetting the realm and replaced the newly reset world with the one with the addon. this way of doing it though a longer prosses has worked for me a couple times now. 

This issue also happens when updating a pack, and sometimes even when removing it, here some of the information I have obtained.
Steps to replicate:
1. Upload an addon (RP/BP) to your realm
2. Change the version of the addon to a higher version
3. Enter your realm settings, and verify that the addon has been successfully changed of version

Expected results:
The addon will be uploaded with no issues and after changing the version, it will be changed in the realm after step 3 and everything changed, added, or removed will be applied in the realm.

Obtained results:
Enters you into an infinite loop of “Uploaded pack successfully”, where the only way to get out of it is closing the game in the realm settings, which reverses the changes that were attempted to be made.

I have found a workaround for this, I hope it helps the users affected by this issue;

1. Install the world where you want to upload the addon
2. Upload the Addons offline in that world
3. Go to the world settings
4. Click “Play in Realm”

This will upload the world with the packs on the realm. Although, at first instance you may think it doesn’t work, since the game will keep loading and loading, you can close and re-open the game if this happens in the joining realm screen, and the changes will be made.

I tried it yesterday and it worked for me. Altought I tried it with a normal RP and BP, without gametest, I believe that with gametest the things are going to be different.

If you are just trying to update a pack and not upload a pack, you can create a new world with the updated packs in the realm, using the following method:

1. Go to create new world settings
2. Upload the Addons
3. Click on “create in realms

This will create the world with the Addons in the realm, so then you can go to the realm slot where you want to update the pack and click on check the settings of it, that will automatically update it with no issues.
These are the only methods I have found.

Same thing happened to me, so I had to download the world, apply the packs and reUpload and that in and of itself was an issue as it showed no progress and I thought it was stuck... but it eventually uploaded.

This needs an official response that the issue is being investigated and fixed,
