Workaround
Use the "Add Realm" button and enter the realm code again. This may let you bypass the bug.
Upon the release of update v1.16.100 I have tried countless times to join my friends Minecraft Realm however a notification is displayed on the screen saying "Unable to connect to the world. Please check your connection to the internet and try again." It is worth noting my internet is working perfectly, I am connected to the internet yet when the realm is loading I am unable to connect because of the issue above.

This is happening to me on PS4. It also happened on my Xbox One S but that one resolved after I quickly pressed the "download and join" resource packs button. Not on PS4. If I press the button to download resource packs it gets stuck and I have to restart the app. Longest I waited was 15 mins.

I have the same issue happening on Android 1.16.100

The realm hoster needs to update the realm the same thing was happening before the host updated
Is this still an ongoing issue? If so, could you please confirm that the host has updated to the latest version and connected to the Realm?

The host updating has no effect - I was able to connect from my computer to my realm on the latest version but not from my xbox

This may not be the only cause but I have found that the reason I am getting this error is because when the player tries to join the realm, it asks to download a resource pack (in this case I had added a new one after the update to remove the result of MCPE-105882 by replacing the texture with a blank one), however shortly after this the game decides the popup box is actually a wifi issue and shows the 'unable to connect to world' screen.
A temporary fix in this case would be to remove any resource packs from the realm OR spam the button you would usually use to press ok whilst joining (on PC have the cursor where the download and join button would appear)

This is happening to myself and 2 others that I know of.
We are on the hotfix update (1.16.101) which was meant to fix this issue but its still there.

One realm has resources packs the other has none. Both have been updated but we cannot access over mobile data.

I found a way, if a friend can get into the realm get them to invite you.

Just in response to Mega_Spud, yes this is still an ongoing problem. I’ve tried to connect to my hosts realm to no avail. I can guarantee they updated their realm but the issue is still occurring despite this.
They aren’t using any resource packs either.

In reply to Hannah have you got the person to turn the realm off and on. last night i got my friend to do that and we also had a texture pack on so turned that off and we all managed to get onto that

My friends and I are having the same issue, we can't join at all. And it doesn't let us replace the world or load a previous save either

I have the same issue, keeps saying "unable to connect to world connect to the internet". My internet connection is 100% and my NAT type is open. This only started after the update. We are 6 people on my realm and 4 of us have this issue while 2 of my friends don't and can access my realm without any problems. I have tried everything, opening and closing the realm, deleting the realm, replacing the realm and even connection to a different internet. I also downloaded minecraft on my phone to see if it is maybe a firewall on xbox but it also says the same on my phone when I try to connect to my realm on my phone. I have also uninstall and re-downloaded minecraft, that didn't work. I have joined a minecraft community group for suggestions on what to do any even tried everything they suggested and still got nowhere. At the moment I'm paying for a realm that I can't access. I have sent mails to both Microsoft and minecraft and it's been 2 weeks and I'm still paying for a service I can't use.

I've had this problem on my Android phone but was able to connect on my laptop until yesterday where I can not connect at all my Internet connection for both devices are fine, the issue is only with Minecarft

Whether I use cellular data or WiFi, it keeps happening. On very rare occasions I might be able to get in. Previously developers messed up with mobile data bug, and now this? Solve your stupid bug.

This is happening with me too. I get this error on my own realm and on all of my friends realms.

Same here on my Xbox which is hard wired into the Internet. Not updated yet as the update isn't in the store yet.

Same issue. Mine only occurs when loading a template world, whether on multiplayer or offline. Ps4 after update 2.18 & 2.19

This happened to me, i have to try again multiple times to join a goddang realm

This bug is still not solved but if you want to join your realm, I have found a simple trick. You dont have to join the realm listed in friends tab, you have to join the same realm with the code and then you can easily connect to the realm. I used this trick for the same realm on which I play but now its kinda too annoying.

From my experiment with this it seems to only happen with 5ghz network connections but when using a 2.4ghz connection it seems to have less trouble.

I am effected by this.
1 I own the realm
2 its via my xbox which is connected via cable to my router.
3 I log in and select the realm from the realm list.
Its not all the time, it started just before 1.16.200 and is still intermittently doing it.

I am a guest on the realm.
I am playing on Xbox One (with excellent internet connection).
I select from a realm list, but I have also tried using an invite link to another realm, thats doesn't work either.

Hi, I'm the creator of my realm. Everyone in my house can enter my realm but can't. It says to check my internet connection. My internet is working fine as I'm using it to post this. Beginning before Thanksgiving no one could access any realms it would always say that we were trying to connect to an outdated server. Everyone updated their Minecraft to the newest version available then it said the realm was outdated and the creator, myself must update, I was updated but now and all can access my realm except me.
Ignoring the earlier issues I had, I need to resolve the issue of it telling me to check my internet.

I'm hosting the realm from PlayStation 4
What I try to do was to go to Play --> Worlds ---> Realms (I should see my realm being online) ---> Tap on the realm and join ---> LOADS LOADS LOAD... and it says "Joining Realm... This may take a few moments" and after more than a minute it says "UNABLE TO CONNECT TO THE WORLD. PLEASE CHECK YOUR CONNECTION TO THE INTERNET AND TRY AGAIN." (Note: I'm using a LAN CABLE/Ethernet Cable and my Internet is super fast). I tried to join the realm as a guest on my other accounts in Nintendo Switch and Windows 10, and they all are having the same issue as well. I also asked my friends to join the realm and they also get the same message. I tried to stop the realm and open it again but nothing fixes, and when uploading/replacing a world it gets a message saying "Failed to upload a world to the Realm".
Please fix this as soon as possible and also I'm on the latest update in all my devices and this issue hasn't been fixed

This issue has been persisting for me ever since the 1.16.200 update. It affects me across all devices, pocket, Xbox, windows, etc. I am the host, and it also applies to when I join other realms too. This is happening to all of my realm members as well.
Edit: it also has nothing to do with my own connection. I’ve used various WiFi sources besides my own household connection.
Edit 2: I don’t want to try to be the one who brings this up, but I do feel like everyone else is thinking the same thing. This issue has been happening for two months now. I would like to actually hear back and see what exactly is happening in the process of fixing this issue. Has the cause of the issue been found? Has the team tasked with fixing it had any break through? Should we anticipate an update anytime soon? I am sorry, but, knowing I can currently list off literal hundreds of other players with this exact issue, it is bothering me that we don’t get as much feedback to us about the current situation.

This has been happening to me too after 1.16.1 i believe was the update. I tried taking my vpn off and using a device that never had a vpn on it, switching to data, deleting the minecraft app and reinstalling it. Logging out of my microsoft account and logging in on another and still unable to access it. I own the realm and i cant even log on. Sometimes I can get in by persistently trying to enter it and eventually I can get in and dont disconnect or lag at all (making me think it isn’t actually connection issues) but this can take 30 or more minutes of failing to load in just to finally access it. Just today it took me over an hour of trying to access it before i gave up and came to check if anyone else had these issues.

+1 having the exact same issues as Shelley describes.
It seems as if the realm is closed/turned off in the backend and my instance needs to boot before I can access it. It starts booting the first time I try to join it seems. As when I wait long enough, it is available ^^ Would be a great money saver to use A.I. to predict when someone is normally on the server and have it online by the time I'm logging in. And otherwise give a message: booting up... wait a minute.

I am facing the same issue. My friend is hosting a realm from Canada. I and the rest of my friends are all from Asia. We started the realm a few days back. Version 1.16.201. When the members (me and my other friends) try to play it gives the same prompt saying that my internet connection is bad and it was unable to load the realm. I was literally in a call with them over perfect internet. I kept trying but nothing happened. I was using the Windows 10 edition. I restarted Minecraft, restarted my laptop but all in vain. I tried to join the realm with my phone but the same thing happened. No one was able to join except for the host himself. The only way we could join was by pressing on his name in the 'Joinable Friends' while he's playing on the realm. That worked just fine, but what's the point of a realm then? The point of a realm is that everyone will be able to play whenever they want. If someone has to stay online all the time, we could just have someone keep a multiplayer world open. That will be free as well. I hope realms are fixed soon or this will be a significant issue for us users, if you care about us at all.

I am a guest of the realm. I am using an ASUS Zenbook 14 UM425IA with the windows 10 edition of the game. My friend invited me via using an invite, which I accepted. I hope the info helps. Just saying, I don't think this is a device issue since my other friends are also facing the same issue. Frankly, not only us, but everyone else who is a guest of the same realm.

Also having the same issue, can't log in due to internet error. Sometimes can log in on my phone. But log in on xbox and pc, also other members of my realm can sometimes log in.

I also experience this issue across the following devices. Xbox one x, xbox one S, xbox one, switch, IOS (iPhone 8 plus and iPad, Win 10 PC.
Most devices have been tested on 3 different internet service providers all with min 50 mbps up 10 mps down.
I can log in with no issue if I select join game option on a friend already in the realm in the Xbox friends list (xbox menu)
I have not found any other solution or a work around as it can take up to 50 tries to log on if no one I know is on the realm.

I have the same issue and the realm is used by a PS4 player and an Android player. The realm owner is xSadBatman and the realm name is "kweetetnie".
I wonder if the cross platform playing here is causing the issue. I didn't have any problems until my son connected with his PS4... That could be a coincidence but I notice that other comments also indicated multi platform playing.
It requires many times to login and I tested this from multiple networks.

I've been trying all day to connect to the realm, neither my friends and I were able to connect to the realm, we have been trying all morning. We have already checked the internet connection and it's all right, and still the server of our realm doesn't work, it hasn’t worked in two days.

I am still having the issue as well. Tablet Android version 9. Both of my tablets have the same issue.
None of my worlds can't connect to the internet.

Same issue tried all solutions on forums / Support and no luck, sometimes connects via iOS, occasionally via PC but never via Xbox.

I'm also having this issue, I'm on Windows 10 and my internet connection is excellent. There were never previously any issues with loading Minecraft. However, it will connect very quickly on my Alienware Aurora PC but not on my laptop. On Xbox I cannot connect because it says that my privacy settings need to be updated, but as far as I can tell everything is enabled on my account.

I'm also having this problem, it's getting quite frustrating, can't connect to my realm on Nintendo switch or Samsung tablet

When using my PS4 it gives me the unable to connect to work, please check the internet connection. My internet works fine. I can play other games and go on servers.
Just don’t understand cause it can’t be internet connection I access servers fine.
I can connect on Realms using my Nintendo Switch and my personal hotspot.

I am having the same issue of not being able to connect to realms however I found a way around it if my friend is already in the realm and they invite me through the friends menu Im able to join the realm

For those still affected, I have found a workaround to this issue. If you’re willing to do it every time, you can reenter the realm code and it should let you bypass the bug, at least, that’s how it’s been for me. Hope this helps

This isnt just a realm issue. So to summarize the issue here is the problems. In this report i made it has 2 issues that are being cause by the same thing. The problem is when you have a group of addons added to your Minecraft account the game will freeze up around every 20 seconds and it will stay froze for around 5-3 seconds. My other issue is connection issues being caused by addons/marketplace content. I ran a bunch of test and i wrote about them in the big text below. To summarize my test i had 3 accounts 1 being my main. I found this was being caused by addons by accident, I made a new account because i wanted to get rid of the issues i was having which are the Micro Lag and the Connection Issues. I will show examples of both below. On my alt account i didn't install any marketplace content and played with it for around a week and a half. i noticed that i was able to join all games, realms, and servers almost 100% of the time. But the game was telling me that it was a "connection issue" so that's what i thought it was, but i found out it wasn't my connection at all. So i ran a few test, long story short once i installed some skin packs, global resource packs, and addons my alt accounts game began to do the same thing as my main. Both of the issues got worse with the more connect installed. I will now post the pictures and videos of the issues below.

I've been having the same issue on Switch since v1.16.100 and in addition to having trouble connecting to my Realm, my I get logged out of my Microsoft account every so often and need to go to https://aka.ms/remoteconnect to connect my Switch to my Microsoft account.
The only way I've found so far to get the connection to the Realm working after it starts failing, is to force a reboot on my Switch and then I most likely have to reconnect to my Microsoft account.
Is there any update on getting this issue resolved? It's been three months since this bug was opened...

I found a workaround. If you try to enter the realm via the "Add Realm" button and then put in the code even if you have it added already, it will join the realm normally.

I am the owner of the realm. I have 5 guests with the same issue as me.
4 of us are using windows 10 PCs, one is using an iPad
Steps to reproduce:
I'm running 1.16.201
On the main menu screen in minecraft, I click on my realm (named Pandemonium).
The purple loading screen appears saying "Loading resource packs" and a 'cancel' button. I do not click this button.
EXPECTED:
After a period of time, my realm loads up in the last place my character saved.
ACTUAL:
Error message 1 appears saying "Unable to connect to world. Please check your internet connection and try again." After a second or two, error message 1 disappears and is replaced by error message 2: "Unable to connect to world."
I have tried Jadon's work around, but this doesn't work either.
I have spoken to Microsoft customer support. Their representative Jarley R tried everything they could to fix the issue, but came to the conclusion that the problem lies in the game and there is nothing that can be done on their end. The provided me with a case number if you need to get details about what they did to try to resolve the issue: 1517330877.

Hi Folks, I had this exact issue today and wrecked my head trying to figure it out. The problem was caused by the password on the associated Microsoft account having been changed. The solution was to log out of minecraft and reauthenticate at this link - https://aka.ms/remoteconnect

I've tried Neil B's fix and it hasn't fixed the issue. All 6 of us that play on my realm started experiencing the issue at the same time, and none of us changed our password recently.
When will this be fixed please, Mojang?

I had this exact same issue on my ps4 pro. What I did was went to settings signed out or “unpaired mircosoft account” with my ps4 signed back in and everything was normal. Only thing I lost was my player. I had to remake him but that was a small price to play in order to play again

My Internet is perfect and this still happens at least once everytime I try to join a realm.
Edit: Oddly enough, this bug only happens if you have an Internet connection in the first place. If you don't, a different message would appear preventing you to join the realm. (something fishy going on here...) Besides, this message only appears after "Loading Resources"

How is this task still unsigned!? This has been an ongoing problem for months!

Mojang does not use the "Assignee" field for Bedrock-Realms. So the fact that there is no "Assignee" set does not mean the issue is not being worked on.
