Hello Bug Tracker, mostly everyone is having this issue for about 4 months now since 1.16 update came out, there is problems on realms and many players are very angry like me because we haven't gotten any update of it so most people just quit the game and I think this could help you, there is a message on realms where it says "We cannot connect to realms right now. We will try again later" and if you enter a world, it says you have been disconnected from your Microsoft account and this is not a personal issue due to many people having this too and we've all waited long enough, Thank you for reading this

If you completely quit Minecraft and then relaunch does it work, (described in MCPE-94489)?
Otherwise, does it work if you log out and back on?

No, it does not work because I did that for the last 4 months and still nothing worked

I too have been facing connection issues since 1.16 released. I have not been able to connect to realms from my Android device or either of my two switches.
I stumbled onto a fix that has addressed the issue on both my phone and my switches.
Minecraft on my phone was experiencing the same "We cannot connect to realms right now. We will try again later" issue, but when I switched from my WiFi to LTE, realms started working again. Then when I was back on my WiFi and I loaded Minecraft on my phone again and it continued working. I decided to try applying the same concept to my switch. I confirmed it still wasn't working, then made a WiFi hotspot from my phone and connected to that with my switch. When I loaded up Minecraft on my switch again it finally connected to realms. I then switched back to my WiFi and it also continued working.
I don't understand why the update prevented me from connecting to realms, or how temporarily switching WiFi networks fixed it, but I figured I would pass it along to you in hopes that it will help you to help others that are facing the same problem caused by the recent updates.

I have had similar issues on my Nintendo Switch, which have gotten much worse after the v1.16.101 update. I used to be able to connect to realms occasionally, but now it is not at all.
Despite being connected to the internet and being able to use the internet on my switch with other games and apps, I cannot connect to Realms. The error message reads, "We could not connect to Realms right now. We will try again soon." This message has been consistent. I am connected to my Switch account and my Microsoft account, and my skin is loading in after some delay. I have restarted both the game and my switch many times throughout the day since the v1.16.101 update to monitor for changes, but the problem has remained consistent.

Same issues for me as well. My kids and I play from different parts of the world. They can't connect in Germany but I can in Utah. Frustrating. Checked for corrupt data and redownloaded the game and fixed nothing. I was having this issue before and they were connecting. Now I am having long load times, constant freezes requiring reboot. Frustrating, updates just causing more issues it seems.

I still have a problem with connecting to realms on my Ipad 6.

I don't know if this will help with everyone, but I had the issue where "we couldn't connect to realms right now" on the switch, but another user could get on just fine. I reset, restarted, even redownloaded. Nothing worked. Then I logged out of Microsoft (from within minecraft settings) and logged back in. That's when I found out my Microsoft account was locked. A quick trip through the unlock process and now everything works as expected.

Having the same issue on Switch. Realm works fine on Xbox and PS4, but the Switch won’t connect due to a connection problem. It says to check internet connection but that’s fine - and the PS4 that works fine is on the same wifi.

Thanks for the advice, that worked for me, although I am only trying to access realms to be able to transfer my sons minecraft worlds from one samsung tablet to his new samsung tablet.
Now on the first device it says it doesn't know if the world downloaded correctly and when I load up minecraft on the second tablet to try and download the world it doesn't seem to work. Funny thing is I tried this system before xmas (November) and it worked fine - now it doesn't any useful advice would be appreciated.

Today we are able to log in. My only guess is that there were server issues that were resolved overnight and Mojang didn't report it?

Unable to connect again.

i've found out that earlier this last year i had changed my microsoft password and that locked my account. i've just relogged my microsoft account and realms have become accessible.

My MCPE-114062 was duped into this, but I can't see a workaround. I've tried logging out and in again using my account but that didn't seem to work.
Since Realms has always taken a minute or two to start for me, this became the last straw, and I've canceled my Realms subscription in favor of more expensive self-hosting that I can at least make work.

I have not been able to connect to my realm for over 10 days now

I had to fix the game myself because this website is a joke..... in my research i found out that their is a major glitch between The villagers and their beds. I gave another player creative powers and told them to go as close to my town as possible and Kill @e I think it was to kill all villagers then run away as fast as possible.... this fixed the crashing glitch for myself and the entire realm.... hope this helps some of you because i know this website will not.....

Thanks to your advice, I got my realm back! A friend went in, killed all the villagers, then destroyed the beds and work blocks, to fix the issue. One other tip is; to do this at night time when the villager AI isn't as active since my game definitely glitched at sunrise. I think my problem was that i had two fairly big villages close together and the villagers were free to go visit both. Perhaps it was like the Buridan's ass paradox.

I can't stay connected to the server more than a few seconds. Therefore trying to kill any villagers is impossible.
It's been a little over two weeks for the realm to be down. Maybe I should cancel and play worlds for free.

I have had this 'unable to connect to realm' for the last 10 days. I am not able to reconnect to the Marketplace and my Friends either. I run Minecraft on Android 7.0. Re-installed XBox and Minecraft several times and cleared data/cache in between. I am signed in XBox (my Friends are listed on XBox too) and my profile is correctly appearing in Minecraft. Not sure what I can else do to make Minecraft re-connect?

Just like Euan Briand, I too have been "unable to connect to realm" for at least two weeks. Nor connect to the marketplace nor friends. I play on switch and the internet and microsoft accounts are fully active. Please help!

I'm having these issues too. Trying to access a realm that my nephew subscribed for. Account connection issues.. getting kicked out of realms... and now the realms aren't even working right now...

What do you mean? Upload a copy of the world? The issue is that we can’t see any Realm on the main menu. I don’t have any current realms and I still get this error.

My problem with this that I pay the Play Station Network $3.99 for this on a monthly thing. And, because I did that, it moved my world off my PS4 to the Realm network. If I lose my data because of this, I will be very displease. I have been checking everyday for a week now with nothing new on this. Even if I choose to discontinue this service; I have put thousands of hours into my world that I want back. Atleast get the backup server working at the least so people can get their worlds offline before they get deleted.

Still having this issue, this time with version 1.17 on Minecraft Pocket Edition. Just started Monday, 6/21/2021. Prior to then, was able to play last on Sunday, 6/20/2021 (already updated to ver 1.17), no incident. Tried all suggestions on Minecraft troubleshooting repeatedly, no change (completely exiting app, restarting device, reconnecting and disconnecting from Internet, etc.). Mojang Support unhelpful, slow to respond and refers back to the generic troubleshooting guide.
