It's wrong because "the_end" is the name of the central biome where the ender dragon battle takes place, but using the locate command never points to that biome. This would be a headache for anyone needing to find their way back to the main island.

Found this in 22w16b immediately on spawning in a new world, twice.

Teleporting into an ancient city shows this really well, with all the chunk updates from the lava

An aside though, this does look really cool

Tested with only soul sand myself, but i wanted to corroborate that attempting to jump up one level to a soul sand block results in the barrier sensation, or a push backwards if you manage to sprint up there. Also, simply standing on any single block at the edge of elevation will push you off, whereas being even a 2nd block away from the nearest ledge produces no effect.

Problem appears to be with the upper soul sand block: to provide an example, the bug IS triggered by jumping from soul sand up to soul sand, soul soil up to soul sand, but the bug does not occur jumping from soul sand up to soul soil.

Yeah, seconding. To word it better, in the soul sand valley (but probably also any adjacent soul sand of different elevations) you're prevented from jumping up a block from one to the other, almost as if there's a border on the edge of the block. Sprinting sometimes gets you up top, but then you get pushed back a block or two back to the lower level.

I found this to be extremely noticeable in the gnarled, claustrophic quarters of the bastion remnants

Since this hasn't gotten much attention, anyone else sharing the issue I would appreciate adding their own screenshots... my black and gray character against the blackstone isn't exactly a clear image

@@unknown's old comment accurately describes my experience interacting with the unloaded portions / how little of the world loads and how slowly, and I also get "preparing spawn area" every time I open the same worlds.

This seems to fit a LOT better than the other chunk loading issues I was directed to, especially walking up to the edge and it not loading for several minutes / flying up and only seeing a very small loaded map / no horizon. Agreed on the results of using f3+a. Sometimes opening the menu screen helps, but not always. Still needs to have the root cause fixed.

Same problem - not nearly enough chunks load as they should

Thank you, I tried to search but I wasn't sure which issue matched it best, I actually hadn't found MC-139717 in my previous searches, it does seem to match my issue very well.

I get this a LOT and the pattern always repeats, plus I constantly have chunks load way slower than they should but idk if it's a separate issue
