I seem to have found some sort of workaround. Launch Minecraft without logging into Xbox Live before. Log in when the main menu appears. This way I managed to get into mineplex and inpvp. However, I got disconnected from inpvp after a short while, and then again I had to reboot the console to regain full Xbox Live functionality.
Same issue here. It happens on my Xbox One S with my daughter’s Xbox Live account, only with Mineplex and InPvP, while lifeboat works even if with frequent disconnections. Moreover, after the connection fails, she can no more invite friends to the servers, because in place of the invite button there is a message that says that she’s not connected to Xbox Live anymore. A full console reboot is needed to reset the issue. Oddly enough it happens only with her account: with my account everything works fine on the same console; moreover, her account works flawlessly with servers on the updated Minecraft windows edition. We own the disc version of Minecraft Xbox One Edition, and I downloaded the new one yesterday with my account.
I can understand this not being compatible since a chromebook is not large enough to fit into a pocket, and is not as mobile-friendly as a tablet or phone despite it being a touch screen, it uses a keyboard, which is used mainly for computers, and since computers can't run pocket edition, (because you definitely can't put a computer in your pocket) it is not compatible with touch-screen chromebooks because they technically consider them as a laptop computer.
It's weird that the naturally generated nobs are there..... anyway, mobs such as sheep, are more than one block high, therefore it would surpass the limit of the height . I don't know if endermites are affected by this, but it is probably a default setup that no mobs can be spawned by the player if it exceeds the height limit. Most mobs are more than one block tall, so I can see this occurring for all mobs.
The reason for this is that these enchantments were created specifically for the sword. The same thing happened to me and I realized that when I tried a different tool. Try switching tools to see if that helps
It also happened to me
That may be because you have to place new tables(geography, smithing..) according to the number of villagers.
Is not the same, my light sources works. Only the sky lighting stops working in some chunks.

However, PC edition can run on your chromebook if you have a Linux server. Otherwise, minecraft won't work.

this has only happened once to me after about 650 attempts, making this a pretty rare glitch
After I used the nether portal, it generated into this
considering it is probably the default setting of a 2 block build limit for mobs

Though occasionally these enchantments can appear on different tools, and vice versa

It has only happened once. it may have been a minor codiing bug
I don't have one. I have seen it on all platforms, but it is most prominent on the Xbox 360
Thanks, know I can play Minecraft happily.
Thank you! Still present in 13w11a but only while moving. As soon as the camera comes to a halt the dots disappear.
1.5 official release, no mods, default TP;
Mac with ATI Radeon HD 5770, white lines and dots are still VERY obvious on a 30" display; visible at 100%
