Forgot to mention it was a new 1.17.40.21 beta world

@goldenhelmet - I don't have a non beta world, but I was able to duplicate in a new creative, flat world in hard mode. Throw trident and move 200 blocks away. I discovered this morning you don't need to wait 30seconds, it will despawn. I also discovered that moving 120, 150 or 175 blocks away will not cause it to despawn. I'm playing on sim distance of 4. Render distance 7

Quick comment to update mobs still spawning on leaves and glass in beta 1.14.1.2

Observed the same behavior in 1.14.0.51 beta. I get the hero of the village effect applied for 12 to 13 seconds which doesn't count down until I leave the area where I beat the raid. Once I leave it'll count off the seconds until I loose the effect, however, I can go back to the area I defeated the raid and get another effect applied. Only for 12 seconds though. I can keep getting a new effect for around an hour.

Oh sorry. I should have included an update there too. I've removed the glass for 1/4 of my hole and The mobs don't spawn there. They most be spawning on the glass blocks

Update... Issue persists in beta 1.14.0.50.

Mobs are also spawning on leaf blocks. (Dark oak and spruce for sure. Haven't tested others)

Can confirm it was fixed in one of the later betas. Not sure which. (Sorry). I'm not seeing it in 1.14.0.4 either

This issue has re appeared in the latest beta. 1.14.0.2 

I've got a giant hole with nothing but glasts and bedrock blocks on the bottom. At night, the hostile mobs still spawn..  I've attached a screen cap taken during the day, but you can see the slimes down there. The second is at night. The mobs are not easy to see. I have circled a few.

Yes I have tried this. I was able to start the game normally. However, once I exited the game and came back in, I had the same issues. Note: I did not attempt to load a world once I got in. I simply waited to see if it would crash, then exited. 

I have the same issue on a gs8. 13.0.2 was working fine but when I updated to 13.0.4 I cannot even get in. I tried to reinstall and it worked once, but as soon as I left the game and came back in it constantly crashes. Game is unplayable

Same. Cannot create smooth stone or smooth stone slabs I. The latest beta 1.13.0.1. I can smelt cobble to stone but I cannot smelt stone to smooth stone

Thank you for taking the time to get back in touch with me. This was exactly me problem. My overworld gate was at 315, 10, 9 and the created nether gate was at 55, 49, -1. That actually gate should have been in the middle of a lava lake. I made a new platform with a gate and everything links properly now.

I'm not sure on that... I'm running a galaxy s8 (sm-0950W) with 4gb ram (2.4gb free). Adreno 540. I always get 59.9fps while playing Minecraft except when I craft multiple items in succession. It drops to 3fps.
