I've noticed this happening in the overworld with slimes as well. If the surrounding area is well lit (preventing other spawns), it's possible to fight a whole bunch of slimes in an area, then turn around to do something and get ambushed from behind by a newly spawned slime.

Giving realms the option to use the optimal simulation distance of 12 would certainly solve the problem.

I hadn't been getting the "Updating xxxx of 4294967295" error until about last week or so, when it started happening again, so it's apparently still an issue for some people (myself included). Fortunately (on console), the workaround of going back to the home screen then back into MC starts the loading process and actually loads the texture pack (although I do need to open the settings menu and close it again to trigger applying the pack).

Confirmed, this is still happening for me. However I've noticed that the XBox Series X quick resume feature effectually keeps minecraft running, so it doesn't forget what texture texture packs to use. The downside of this, is that because of MCPE-94489, minecraft isn't able to connect to realms, which means force quitting minecraft, launching it again, re-selecting the texture packs because of this bug, then opening the realm I want to play on (Instead of just pressing 'A').

It's also worth noting that (at least for me), this issue seems to be fixed on Windows 10.

Can confirm this is still an issue in v1.16.210 (Both XBox and PC Bedrock Edition)

This is happening on my realm (xbox/pc), so I suspect it's still an issue. Screenshot provided.

As mentioned above, Hoe is censored, which makes signage for actual in-game hoes difficult. Additionally, a sign reading "Axe ST\nSword U2" (for my villager that trades silk touch axes and unbreaking 2 swords), just gets wiped to a blank sign. I can't tell what the particular issue is there - "Axe ST", "Sword U2", and "Axe ST\nSword" are all perfectly acceptable.

Still seems to be an issue, as REALMS-6805 was resolved by reverting realms back to sim distance 4. I've been wanting sim distance 10 for a while now, but it seems there was too much outcry on that.  Making sim distance configurable per realm would probably be the best compromise.

Main issues with the smaller sim distance are that crops stop growing when moving to other side of base, and after killing 3 ghasts in the nether and turning back to building, there are instantly 1 or 2 behind me again (applies to skeletons and blades in soul sand valleys and fortresses too).

Bedrock 1.9 on PC and XBox1.

Why no screenshot feature?

Can confirm this happens on XBox One as well.

This is happening for me too. Minecraft (Bedrock) XBox One.

Converted my world to Bedrock and have been playing on it for a while. Chunk containing spawner was generated on bedrock, and I began building a farm around it. Just got to the point where I could test it, and nothing was spawning, went and inspected the spawner, and it was empty. Multiple days worth of work for nothing.

Hopefully when the bug is fixed, the spawner regains its old type. I guess I'll just work on something else for now.

Since the recipe book is shown/hidden with the > or < tab on the side of it, it may make sense to to that with a button press LB/RB/Clickstick in inventory to avoid the tab interfering when trying to wrap in the left/right direction.

I have seen this too. XB1 upgrade from digital MCXB1E.
