Did this happen after having converted the world from legacy Xbox One Edition to Bedrock Edition?

migrated

No it was all on bedrock version . I made a xp farm and the next day with no changes or anything there is no mob in the cage and nothing will spawn

migrated

Same problem here. Two separate zombie spawners had a monster inside of them when found. Upon reloading the realm each of the spawners became empty and will not spawn anything.

I just had the same problem in realm server. Was gathering some xp from my zomie spawner, had to log out and when I logged back in the spawner had stopped working. Checked it and the spawner had no zombie in it.

Is this happening in Single player worlds as well as realms?

migrated

This is happening for me too. Minecraft (Bedrock) XBox One.

Converted my world to Bedrock and have been playing on it for a while. Chunk containing spawner was generated on bedrock, and I began building a farm around it. Just got to the point where I could test it, and nothing was spawning, went and inspected the spawner, and it was empty. Multiple days worth of work for nothing.

Hopefully when the bug is fixed, the spawner regains its old type. I guess I'll just work on something else for now.

Not the best of workarounds...but if you don't care about achievements, you can switch to creative and replace the spawner. Just have to put a new cage in and add the propper egg.

I have the same problem, i have a zombie spawner and a skeleton spawner at my base and 2 blaze spawner at the nether. I converted the world form the Xbox One edition, the zombie and skeleton spawners worked jut fine after the conversion. I didn't check the blaze pawners becouse i resteted the neteher before i converted the world. After a week or so i built a blaze farm on peaceful and when i changed the difficulti I noticed the spawner not working. I tought its a problem with the conversion but my zombie spawner also stopped working but the skeleton spawner still work at least for now. So i think its not becouse the world conversion.

I have the same issue on a world converted from XBOX ONE edition to a Bedrock edition Realm. I built my base around a XP farm with double spawners (1 zombie, 1 skeleton) I had a friend who wanted to join, so I switched it from EASY to PEACEFUL, and when i changed back a couple days later. When no mobs came out of the spawners, I broke in, and discovered two empty cages. I have examined a couple of other spawners I know of in my world, that were present in the XBox ONE version, and they are both still there, with zombies inside. This happened after I had my realm running more than 20 days (a few days ago)

I also have this problem on a converted world. All of a sudden the mob disappeared from the mob spawner, went to find another working mob spawner and created my new XP farm. Worked while I was in the game until I quit for a while, come back the next day and the same thing has happened to this mob spawner.

Thanks for posting Kieran. I have the same issue. On Xbox One Legacy i had a survival world with 2000 plus hours of work, but since i converted to bedrock i put in over 200 more hours on my world only to have my spawners to be vacant. I thought like the rest of the of us did, that mojang would fix this in no time seeing as they pushed Bedrock Edition out a month before the release date was scheduled, I thought hey maybe i'll go build something else and wait for the patch, but it's been 2 months and Mojang has not done anything to resolve this. We as the community need to hold them responsible for this disaster, the game has gone way downhill since the release of Bedrock edition. Look at the twitch viewers just drop after release

I have a similar issue but my mob does not disappear from the inside of the spawner cage but rather it just seems to stop spawning mobs for no particular reason sometimes for over five minutes or more no new mobs will spawn.

every spawner i find seems to break when leaving the world. first time u leave n come back the mob inside the spawner disapears, but still spawns mobs. the second time the mob inside the spawner is still gone but no mobs spawn. it doesnt matter if u put a egg in the empty cage(which is a impossible fix in survival world), the spawner just restarts the cycle. it seems im not the only one having this issue. only thing i can think of is that you guys messed up with the world convertion and didnt replace the old spawners with the new spawners data properly. so when you reload the bugged spawners the world doesnt read it properly and breaks it... please fix this, it makes playing pointless cause my base is centered around a double spawner and only way to fix the spawner is to reset the realm with a back up of the world, which will break again when you leave...

this is a converted world, i recreated the seed on mcxbox1e 2 days ago to test if the seed was outdated. but the problem still happens, so it isnt... it seems like people have been having this issue sence day 1 n its a BiG one that make players years of work practically meaningless.... when they cant enjoy the perks this new version because the cost is to high, paying $10 a month to rip out the heart of your base(your spawners)

Was not able to load my old game save from Xbox 360 "I put a few years into working on it" until this latest update but now I'm happy to report its working again on my Xbox One X. This old game save is on survival and has never been used for creative, now while the old save now does works again, all my monster spawners are now empty and nothing will spawn out of them. I had 4 that I found in my game, 2 spiders, an archer and a zombie spawner but all now are just empty black cages with fire.

Updated info:
This is on Minecraft Bedrock edition Xbox, I no longer play Minecraft Xbox One Edition, it's still a problem and I have the latest updates as I have it set to auto-update. Note this is a game save that was transferred from Xbox 360 cloud save to Xbox One X.

Was reading here about other players with the same problem as me and I do remember that after my game was imported to the Bedrock Edition when I loaded it, no mobs were spawning and when I check the settings, it had been changed from normal to peaceful, I changed it back but by that time autosave had already saved the world, perhaps this is a common thread here?

brett any spawner that was generated into the world on the old minecraft gets broken in the converting process, so only way to make them work is to go into creative and replace it with a new empty cage and put an egg in it... which will turn acheivments off on the world... but any spawner that the new minecraft generates in works fine, so you could go to an unexplored area n hunt for a spawner(copy the save and hunt for a spawner in creative on the copied world, makes it alot faster)...

It’s sucks that you’re paying for a realm for spawners not to work and it’s been already 2 months. I hope this gets resolved soon I’m losing players because of the lack of xp spawners

I don't suppose the developers could fix the code or make an addition, so that it scans for empty cages, and, when it locates one, places a random appropriate mob (weighted toward zombies and skeletons) in the cage, if the game mode is SURVIVAL? I hate to think the only way to do this is to roll back to a version of my save from September.

Unless there's a way to enter a command to fill the cage, without entering Creative, and loosing the Achievements
.

This has happened to me twice. I had a skeleton spawner that worked great. I built a grinder around it. I load up the world then and it was empty. I decided to build another grinder around a nearby zombie spawner and it worked great. I then came back on today and it’s now empty as well. This is becoming very frustrating. I duplicated the world and made it creative and used a mob egg on the spawner, fixing the issue but obviously I can’t do the in survival without losing the ability to get achievements. I really hope this is fixed soon.

And it’s happened again. I tried to build a mob grinder around a blaze spawner and I had to turn my Xbox off for a while. After I finished building it, I went back to the spawner and it was empty. This glitch is really starting to put me off playing and I’m tempted to switch my world to creative to fix the spawner but I don’t want to.

People have been reporting this issue since October. It is now almost April. That's almost six months, Mojang. Will you please stop dragging your heels and fix the spawners?!

[Mojang] Mega_Spud (Jay)

I'm sorry this is still being reported. We will need some more information to try and pin down what is causing the bug.

Please include some of the following information:

  • Is the affected world single player, or a realm?

    • Could you upload a copy of the affected world? If it is a realm, you might want to contact customer services with the realm information so it can be looked at.

  • Was the world converted from Legacy console?

    • If so, _when _was it converted? (It is possible that it will need to be converted using the latest version to make sure it converts properly, to stop spawners from becoming empty)

It happened in a single player world for me. I converted the world at the end of January and the spawners were working to begin with. After a while I would turn my Xbox off and when I would come back on the spawner would be empty. This has happened to me three times already each time the spawner has a mob in it, I build a grinder around it, I turn my Xbox off, come back on and it’s now empty. It has happened with a skeleton, zombie and blaze spawner. In the case of the blaze spawner I hadn’t even finished the grinder and I checked it and it was empty. I really hope this is fixed soon because I have no other effective way to get experience.

This has happened at least once in a non-converted Realm world for me. If you'd like a download, I can provide it.

@unknown If you have a copy of the world and are happy to share it, that would be useful, thank you.
