Just updating this is still a problem.

By the way, this is still an issue. When the Switch is docked, you cannot move the cursor over to the item crafting screen without rolling over another item in the left side screen, which the changes the items in the crafting screen. With even more blocks and such added to the game this is necessary.

I feel like this is futile as this will just get marked as Cannot Reproduce, when this is very simple to reproduce, that is, if you were testing or reading tickets.

I want to add to this. I managed to click on the - button on my Switch today in time to catch an invite, and I ran into another problem. It didn't take me to the invite, it brought up the Emote page.... That's another bug that needs to be fixed. Or if you don't want to call it a bug, something that needs remapping. I really hope someone looks at this because this is something basic testing should have caught.

Clarissa,

It's crazy huh. I had this happen even last week. Someone I played with on a realm invited me to play on their world, and I couldn't get to the "-" button in time and the invite was gone forever. Since it was an out of the blue invite, I was still reading it when it disappeared. I was hoping they would send me another invite, and sat there for minutes waiting, ready to hit the button, but alas nothing. It's pretty disappointing the way this was treated....

Megaspud,

Just because a ticket didn't have additional comments, doesn't mean the ticket was unreproducable. And I thought I did a pretty good job of explaining the issue. It would take a junior programmer maybe 5 mins tops to fix this if they did a minimum of extend the popup time, and probably part of a day if they worked up a new screen that we could go to and access invites that have been sent to us.

It would be nice if this were to get resolved the right way, especially since on our Switch we don't have any way to respond or message our friends, like is available on other platforms.

Thanks,

Fig

Interesting. I have the same issue as David Frost, and have purpur blocks that will not stack with others.

I just found one (a temple with no chests) when playing on a realm with my Switch. I don't think I wrote down the coords and don't have the seed, but will note this if I run into another where I can get this info. Switch version 1.5.3. and a current realm.

Happens on Switch as well. Version 1.5.3 and previous.

Since you are not actually hitting anything with the trident, can we argue that this is an appropriate case to not reduce durability? The durability would be taken up via elytra or your armor and health if you were just using it to jump up and land. In my opinion, I personally would like to see this left as is.

So I just went and tried it with no texture pack loaded and after about 6 times going to the crafting table it died when I hit the R button. So I need to rescind the statement above that it's only happening with texture packs. I will go edit it. Let me also walk through my steps so that you can hopefully repeat this.

Open crafting table with recipes.

Click from Craftable to All.

Scroll down to banners.

Click on the R button.

If the game doesn't error out, click the L button.

Exit the Crafting table.

Go back into the crafting table.

Scroll down to banners.

Click R.

If it doesn't crash repeat this From the last "if it didn't error out" point.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Same with the Fantasy texture pack. Took about 3 times in and out of the crafting table. I can try the Festive if you want me to. Just let me know.

I just tried with the City texture pack and it too died. I had to go in and out of the crafting table four times, but on the fourth with it set to All, I scrolled down to the red banner and when I clicked R, the game crashed.

@Mega_Spud, I tried it this afternoon, and it does happen in single player, but only with the Natural Texture Pack. I took off the texture pack and could not get it to happen. Put the Natural Texture Pack back in, and it crashes. Sometimes you might have to go into the crafting table a few times, but go in with the recipes set to All, and after a couple times, it will die on me every time. Let me know if there is something I can do to help capture anything for you. It also happens when I am logged into a realm.

Edit: See my note below. I was able to reproduce the issue with no texture pack loaded.

It does happen in single player. The only resource pack I am using is the Natural Texture Pack. I will go back this afternoon and test this without the texture pack applied.

That should be normal. There is no damage done to the trident when using Riptide so there's no reason to put mending on it.

I notice it when using the Natural Texture Pack. I also notice that the first time into your inventory also freezes for a few seconds with this texture pack in place. I remove it and the issue goes away. So I suspect it has something to do with this Texture Pack, or maybe any Texture packs in general. I haven't tried others to test that. If you have a texture pack loaded, try unloading it.

I would like to note that this issue still exists in Version 1.5. I would also like to mention that we have all moved to a realm which has no lag. So narrowing this down, the issue is when playing multiplayer and using the Switch as a host. We did test it before going to a realm and the lag was still there and almost/definitely unplayable at times.

I can possibly understand on the disconnection, but upon testing with the server owner as I mentioned above, we gave me a shulker box, I placed it on the ground, and then signed out. He then stopped the world normally, and started it back up. I signed back in almost immediately and the box was gone. I have a copy for my Switch and Win10, and will do some testing there, but it seems to me that whatever type of block the shulker box is classified as, it doesn't stay, like if you just dropped a regular chest and quit the game. I can go back and edit the title so that the focus isn't on the disconnection if that's the case.

I just tested with the world owner. I put down a shulker box and quit the world using Save/Quit. Right after I left, he exited the world using Save/Quit. He then immediately restarted the world. And as soon as it was back up, I re-joined the world. The shulker box was nowhere to be found and in neither of our inventories. We were exactly where we were locationwise, but the box was gone. And there had not been even a minute of gametime passing.

More notes. from my post on Reddit

https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/8u3dri/its_been_almost_a_week_with_the_new_minecraft/

When a certain group of us are on, the only lag we get at times seems to be the save points. But when some others join it can range from scattered lag to instant dead in the water. We even went so far as to tell one guy that's he temporarily banned cause when he joins we all hit the toilet. But a week ago he was connecting on our Switch Edition world and it was fine for all. We don't have the tools to track down what's causing this. It could be his physical connection causing bad packets and this game just handles it bad, or a million other things that we don't have the tools to diagnose. But whatever it is, same game, older version seems to handle it like a champ. So it's either doing a better job of whatever error correction is or isn't taking place, or it does a way better job of caching up what you have done and playing it through when the lag subsides. But this version, it's horrible. When lag starts, your side will let you mine say 10 blocks and then sit there. It will also allow you to walk forward into the area you have now mined locally. Then when it catches up, instead of replaying all of your moves it only replays what seems like a random portion of your moves, but allows your character to be in the place you have moved to locally, which now still contains blocks. At that point you either take a bunch of damage all in a huge burst or you end up too far in and suffocate in a wall. So why is it coded to not clear all of the blocks you mined, but allow you to walk basically into what are still server side unmined blocks? Just seems like the logic for handling this is not correct.
Same goes for when you are building and lag occurs. Lay down 10 blocks from a cliff across from you and then walk out onto them. When lag catches up, you find 1 or two blocks actually placed and like a cartoon character you are then standing on an empty block soon to be meeting the ground however far down that might be.
One more comment. We have been in the game with horrible lag, and to test I stop the game and immediately switch over to Rocket League, and can play there just fine with no lag and a connection ping of about 60. It's really the closest we have to some kind of tool and I am sure it's not scientific in any way, but after a round of RL we jump back on and will lag with everyone standing around staring at sugar cane growing.
