Mojang Status page, which only mentions Xbox Live.  However, I run Minecraft on Linux Mint 20.3.  The launcher on startup immediately shows a page with my account name marked with an 'x'.  When I try to log in with my Microsoft account it shows a login page. After entering my account name and password it shows an error page starting with "Eroded badlands".  This behavior started some time after 2nd July 2024 17:00 CEST.

Minecraft Java 1.20.1 on Linux.

Situation: a layer of moss blocks 12x12 blocks with hopper minecart running underneath.  The three block  layers above the moss blocks are air. Two sniffers in this enclosuure.  Result: no digging, 0 seeds.

Replaced all moss blocks with grass blocks, keeping everything else the same.

Result: digging animation observed, seeds are produced.

Sorry.  I have/had an account for their website, but if I try to log now they ask too much personal details.  This means that I WILL NOT report this bug.  I agree that it well might be a problem with the NVIDIA driver.

I already did that, no change.

Yep, happens in 1.14.4 release as well.  The result is that no structure around a village is safe without any means to prevent this, even  if the player is not near.  Of course, golems attacked creepers in previous versions as well, but  up to 1.13 it was possible to keep golems and creepers apart.  With the new golem creation mechanism, golems are spawning  outside walled villages, thus UNwalling them...

Did you try to open the launcher from a terminal  window to see if  there were error  messages?

Violine1101: You are right.  The way I use the clock is to put it  in an item frame on the wall.  As I did that quite some time ago, I forgot it WAS in an item frame, so it is just this same bug.  Sorry.

My bad.  In fact, after more testing under better controlled circumstances, the golems spawn from y-6 to y+6.  The wiki is still wrong, tough.

Minecraft 1.14.3 pre-release  3, vanilla version

Linux Mint 19

The same happens to clocks.

Minecraft 1.14.3 pre-release 3

Linux Mint 19

Still happens.  Iron golems  spawning on upside-down slabs.

Comment on Match Nerd:

OK, should work.  However, this does not remedy the fact that the pigmen sense the player(s) through solid (even opaque) blocks, which might be the source of this problem?

Same here.  World originally created under 1.8 or some such, worked perfectly up to 1.13.2.  With 1.14 full release torches do not light the surroundings, thereby spawning my (underground) bases full with monsters.  Not nice, unplayable.

System: Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon, OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 11.0.2+9-Ubuntu-3ubuntu118.04.3).

Above procedure to fix world DOES NOT.

Edit:

To make things abundantly clear:  this world  was NEVER opened in any prerelease and is not modded.  My system has an SSD, so I would be flabbergasted if disk speed was an issue.

I just play in 1.13.2 until this bug is fixed, long as it may take.

 Edit:

In my case this happened after returning from The End, not using a Nether portal.
