@Grum
Far ago Gamers had to add javaw.exe manually to the Nvidia control panel in order to run minecraft on discrete graphics. A while ago Nvidia added MC to their list, so the discrete graphics was chosen automatically (happend while MC was at 1.4.x i believe)
Due to the new launcher players now have to force discrete graphics manually again.
Maybe you can send a nice mail to Nvidia to fix this asap? 🙂
@Chris Koehler
Nope, thats not the correct fix. Just assign the discrete graphics to java.exe or javaw.exe.
MC will now run on on your Nvidia graphicscard 😉
Your solution shortens batterylife extremely in programs which wont need the powerful Nvidia 😉
Try installing 64bit java.
Is your Minecraft modded?
Try adjusting the settings of your graphics driver.
This problem is located there 😉
Because Microsoft decided to throw OpenGL support away.
This is still not a problem with Minecraft itself.
BTW: Where did you get your drivers from? Intel directly or from Microsoft?
Please post your Issue at the Minecraft Forums.
This is not a bug 😉
Also check if the new drivers are installed properly.
Downloading as .jar is fine. The minecraft.exe is only a launcher, not the game itself.
On windows 7 place the minecraft.jar here:
C:\Users%Username%\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin
just launch minecraft afterwards and you will be on 1.4.2 (or whatever version the .jar has)
This gap prevents Z-fighting between the backside of the sing and the face of the block its attached to 😉
btw: i noticed this a long time ago in beta 1.6
Please reread the statistics window. Inksacs have been used 321 times by yourself, they've not been created 😉
-> Close please, as its not a bug.
Of course it stops breaking...
This is intended.
