Is this a thing as well again? Never had my computer heating up for Minecraft before. MCL-12293
I downloaded a serverworld and did it in Minecraft, then uploaded it again. So, yes on both accounts I guess.
Yeah, I forgot to check "clear cache" when optimizing. When that one's checked it worked.
I can confirm what Chase said. I tried creating a world in 20w14b and reopening it in 20w17a – same thing. A world created in 20w17a does not have this issue.
Here's a video. https://youtu.be/UXK6G64mU2Y
Also, I'm tempted to report the bug reporter, because no matter how thorough I try to find duplicates, I always fail. Or maybe I should report me as a bug…?
I struggle with the idea that it's intended to look this way, panes connecting to the trapdoors the second you close them…
Since you only speculate, I can also speculate. They mention 1.14.2 being upcoming, so probably that will be for this bug. 1.14.1 was with main focus for the lag issue.
Ran into this first time today, but it had nothing to do with nether at all. Just logged in and a whole bunch of chunks had killed light.
Just noticed this for 1.13.2.
The overworld beacon at X Z coordinates gives me same effect in the nether at X Z coordinates (no x8).
I too am experiencing the same issue. I can launch up to snapshot 18w47 as a server on a Mac, but with 18w48 and forward (to latest as of now – 18w50) I get the error above.
Latest java installed, on Mac OS X 10.13.3
It had NOTHING to do with unloaded chunks, because everything was loaded. Don't know why you stitch them up as duplicates.
Oh well, you'll figure it out some day…
Just out of curiosity Björn, was the world created in 15w45a or a prior world? Shouldn't make any difference, just interesting to know.
I just did some new testing that contradicts my previous claim via Twitter – I can NOT reproduce this bug in the latest snapshot. I would suggest this bug to be considered fix.

A visual glitch where a considerable amount of entities went missing after a teleport did occur at one point though. After relogging, all entities returned. This can be seen in this horrificly boring video, at 01:30 – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QZzKhCSrpU – available momentarily.
(And yes, the video is very jumpy, didn't bother shutting down all applications, rendering the computer way too slow to keep up.)
Yes, I'm fearing it is intended. In that case I'll be sorry and carry on.
The solution put a duplicate in the little 2x2 crafting table instead – no biggie, but it's there. Guess you've already noticed it. 🙂
Confirmed with 15w39a (obviously, as it's not resolved).
5 sec video of the same issue:

Ah, OK, thanks FVbico! I've been trying to find it. I'll remove my video then, to not confuse.
I'm all for making their job as friction free as possible, thus trying to do bug reporting properly. But I really think one more vote on a very old bug won't do much to bring the attention of "this bug suddenly got 650% worse".
There is a difference in bug behavior as well. Before they popped out of the fence because loading slightly 1 block above the ground.
Now they pass the fences because of another reason, because the fences are 2 high and you can clearly see the entities appear inside, not on top of the fences.
On Mac it on occasion activates via F3 B, which is also used to hid o show hitboxes. Overly annoying when it happens.
