This is still occuring in 1.5.3.  My device is an iPad Air 1.

The first guardians that drop show the expected behavior of actually falling.  The one at the end shows the glitched floating behavior.

One thing I've noticed is that exiting and re-entering the world or going to the Nether and back clears this glitched behavior and the floating guardians (see picture below) fall as a group to the bottom.

This is what the chute ends up looking like when I come up to figure out why I'm not getting any more.

I'm pretty sure it's any block.  It's happened to me with the prismarine variants when I was clearing out an ocean monument.

Personally, I hope it doesn't get fixed.  It makes the turtle shells a lot less underpowered.  You still have to do something extra to get your bubbles back, but it's not as bad as swimming back up to the surface from the bottom of the ocean.

I've been living with this for a while now, but the leaves not stacking (and refusing to stack even with the tricks I've figured out) has driven me here.  I hope they can figure out how to fix it soon, because this is getting annoying.

I think it can happen with any item.  Items I remember this happening with are chests, fence gates, cactus, purpur stairs, purpur blocks, shulker shells, and torches.  It would always happen when moving items from a chest (or other storage box) to your inventy or visa versa, and throwing one of the stacks on the ground and letting them combine in your inventory always worked for me.

I hope it can be fixed soon...

Ok.  Of course I searched "won't stack" and it didn't turn up the "don't stack" xP

I'll make a new report if you want.  This just seemed like the same issue, and I wasn't in the mood to have mine closed as a duplicate to this one.

I'm going to add on to this one, rather than making a new one because I suspect it's the same issue.  I use an Ipad Air 1.

I've been having an issue where some items randomly won't stack.  It normally happens for me when I've been breaking blocks and then I try to combine them with a partial stack in a chest.  I think I first noticed it when I was raiding end cities before the Update Aquatic and was having trouble with chests not wanting to combine when I was putting them away.

The issue has continued up to the current version (1.5.3).  The items would always stack with a partial stack already in my inventory but sometimes refuse to join with a stack in a chest.  This could happen to almost any item, from chests to cactus to torches to purpur blocks and stairs.  I would solve the problem by throwing one of the partial stacks on the floor, as they would stack properly when pulled into my inventory again.

Today (version 1.5.3) I noticed a new quirk when cutting down a 2x2 spruce tree with my silk touch axe.  I chopped through a few leaves on the way into the tree because it's a nice way to passively gather leaves.  Except they didn't stack.  I now have five seemingly identical spruce tree leaves that refuse to stack with each other in any way.

I think the problem with both issues is hidden data that causes the game to think that the items are unique and should not stack with each other, even when there should be no difference.  The only difference with the spruce is this hidden data is peristant, rather than being reset when thrown on the ground.

This happened to me.  I was clearing the prismarine blocks of an ocean monument and some of the gravel layer under it.  I went to the surface to collect my blocks and among them were two glitchy looking squares.  I did not think much of it until I swam over to my chests to put items away and saw two blue squares labeled “water” in my inventory.

My gear includes depth strider 3, respiration 3, aqua affinity, and my helmet is a turtle shell.  The tools I was using are diamond, enchanted with silk touch with efficiency 5 (also unbreaking and mending).

I am running version 1.5.2 on an iPad Air 1.

The 1.5.2 update fixed it for me =3

I don't really consider uninstalling the app and erasing everything a solution...  Especially since this app isn't really set up well for backing up my worlds elsewhere and importing them back in.

I was redirected from https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCPE-35940 but I'm not sure it's the same problem.

My problem didn't start until after the 1.5.1 update, while this seems like an older issue where the game crashes before it even fully loads.  Mine also seems to be very specifically related to the new beach panorama in the background.  It has decided to load the old underwater panorama from the 1.5.0 update a few times, and when that happened I was able to play as normal.  The only oddity when this happened was the magenta and black squares of a missing texture appearing as the background when I saved.

Thanks, Jonathan.  It seems like this is a mobile only issue.  I would say apple only, but some of the other reports are for other mobile devices.

..-

I get that global resources reset message all the time when I just close out the game after saving it normally.  But now that it might actually help me?  Nah, the actual crash isn't apparently a crash.

And there are now seven duplicate reports. (at least that use the keywords "1.5.1" and "crash")  I think this could at least be deemed a "community consensus"...

IF I can convince it to use the old underwater background everything works ok, although it still exits on the strange "no texture" image.  Otherwise, the rotation of the background lags significantly and I can't get a world to launch.  As far as I'm concerned, it's that beachfront background that's the issue.

I haven't uninstalled and reinstalled the game because I have no good way to save my worlds and put them back on my device after.

I'm also rather disappointed that nothing has been done to resolve, or even acknowledge this yet.  It seems like a very simple root cause on my end.  Maybe the devs shouldn't put out updates at the end of the week if they aren't going to be available to push out an emergency update to solve a crashing glitch that is preventing people from being able to play the game at all.  I don't mind people having weekends as time off.  What I mind is not planning ahead around that.

Downloaded the update today.  Now lags heavily on main screen and worlds screen.  It sometimes crashes before I can get to the worlds screen.  It ALWAYS crashes after a little time after I select a world.  The progress bar on the "generating world" screen never gains a single bar.

I play 100% vanilla, no added content of any kind.

I tried closing all my programs and restarting, did no good.  Even though I only opened Minecraft once it started up again.

Edit: Starting with Wifi disabled worked.  It was not lagging and loaded the world fine.  I am not logged into an xbox account because of the previous no wifi freezing glitch that was unfixed as of 1.5.0.  (And then logging in with wifi worked?  The only difference I could tell was the image with balloons and such didn't load in either the no wifi or the one with wifi right after, so I suspect there is something wrong with that image)

Edit:  Just saved out of the game after playing for a while and have the magenta and black squares of a nonexistant texture as the background... o.O

This is still an issue on 1.5

Except on the feedback site it says this:

  • Suggestions regarding parity between platforms and clients. Achieving parity is something that our developers are already very invested in. If something’s missing right now, chances are it’s under discussion, and coming eventually. Please report these as bugs via bugs.mojang.com.

So each site is now telling me to go to the other one to do parity requests.

My device is an iPad Air 1 and I'm running Bedrock 1.4.3

This was mildly annoying (mostly related to not being able to stay put on a ladder while I went into my inventory) until I started building a killing system using magma blocks.  If I go into my inventory I'm half dead by the time I'm done.

If this is an intended feature, it needs to become un-intended.  It is very disconcerting to suddenly be no longer crouching after I go into my inventory when continuing to crouch has been a thing since I started playing pocket.  This is especially important for situations like using crouch to stay still on a ladder, preventing yourself from falling from a precarious place, or preventing magma blocks from burning you.

About the only reason I can think this would be desirable is for newbies who accidentally crouch and then can't figure out why they are walking slow etc so they are eventually kicked out of crouching mode without needing to figure out why they're stuck.  I've had that happen to me, but I'd rather learn what crouching is than just magically have it "fixed" next time I went into my inventory.

Thanks for the tip.  I don't really spend time on that particular page of the settings, so I didn't notice.

BTW, my apple device is an Ipad Air 1.  It seems like this effects all iOS devices, or at least a seriously wide variety.

A relatively easy temporary solution would be to add the ability to log out, at least for the people who know what's causing the issue.  I was trying to play offline earlier today and could not convince it to stop logging me in, even though I had zero internet access

A proper full solution would to figure out what's behind the problem caused by being logged in without internet.  Something that would solve the problem of freezing without solving the underlying problem that caused it would be to automatically log users out when they are offline.
