my son found a work around, he installed Minecraft toolbox, after this he was able to login to the MS account in the toolbox and and Minecraft game itself

same problem here, Huawei MediaPad T5, Android 8.0, cannot login to the MS account in Minecraft
this issue is the same for me in 1.18 but when i load up the same world in 1.17 it works perfectly fine
