Beacon lose it's color and only silhouette (only shape) visible after some distance.
Can be seen at any render distance (if highter, beacon beam become "ghost" after more blocks. First day screenshot is 11 chunks, second is 5). When using a spyglass this can be seen better.
Notes:
MC-166111 shows that in the past the beacon beam was not affected by fog at all.
After the fix for MC-32452, the fog now spans across the full screen. The fog at the center of your view however still occludes the beacon beam. To see the beacon's color properly, it has to be at the right or left edge of your screen/view:

Since 1.18.1, it seems like the fog applied to the beacon beam is spherical instead of cylindrical.
