When at a ground-level spawner in a desert in 14w25b, both skeletons and zombies have spawned inside blocks in full daylight in two different spawners. Screenshots included provide further explanation.
EDIT: Occurs with spiders too.

I think this is the same bug. If not, I will happily start a new bug report.
Here, a dungeon with zombie spawner at the bottom of the sea spawns zombies into gravel blocks. These zombies suffocate and die, leaving rotten flesh. Other zombies spawn in water blocks and float to the surface 20+ blocks away and congregate, like the sailors on the Indianapolis.
This is an all ocean world created in 14w25b today. Seed shown in third screenshot.
Just started a new test world and found a zombie spawner. Layed down torches and despite full lighting was slaughtered by zombies spawning in full light conditions. a number were spawning in the floor and dying of suffocation.
Seed: -3125726014909501488

lots of torches - still spawning (in the floor - but they pop up quick and only take a little damage)
Richard, Blaze Spawners have different spawning behavior - they require very high light levels to stop spawning - torches are insufficient. This is intended.
The bug described in this bug report is unrelated - note one of the key aspects is that mobs spawn inside blocks, often suffocating.
MC-72126 indicates that this bug has returned in 1.8.
MC-72126 is too vague to be able to test it, but this bug has not returned in 1.8.
> Please actually test behaviour before coming with illogical conclusions.
I did.
Whatever is going on in bug MC-72126 may have some similarities, but is not the same as this bug.
Same experience in my spawner room, which is lit by four redstone lamps.
