Workaround
Lower render distance to its minimum value, open a world, then set render distance back to where you want it.
You may also try this (from comment):
I have found a fix for this issue and it seems to currently be working. What I have done is found out accidentally is that when you load a world and wait until after the bar disappears, press the home button once(on ios) and the just open the app again. What you should see now is the game loading like it is when you first open it and then it should bring you straight into your world. You can try this to see if it works but I have tested it many times with different scenarios to see if it kept working and it did.
When I load Minecraft and click play and click on one of my worlds it loads the green line but when the green line ges to the end it won’t load in the world it would just stay on the writing gets stuck on the screen where the writing screen and it’s all my worlds

Maybe your world got corrupted but I'm not entirely sure.

It’s all my worlds now

I also have this problem when I create a world and on my server that I host😔 I'm on Android

Does this occur with and without Experimental Features enabled?
More information about affected devices might be helpful.

Yeah it does

I'm seeing this issue as well on a Samsung Galaxy Tab A (Android) running v1.16.101 with all worlds in creative mode as well as creating a new world. Please advise regarding how to resolve. I'm not seeing an option to enable or disable Experimental Features. I also haven't uninstalled / reinstalled as I'd like to avoid deleting all of my son's worlds.

A comment from the related report MCPE-103403 provides detail that fits this report better:
I have encountered worlds that get stuck loading quite a bit since 1.16.101.
I have several iPads and iphones and although it has happened at least once on all models, I find the issue most commonly happens on my iPad Pro and iPhone 7+, all running iOS 14.1 or 14.2, and it occurs after switching apps. My iPad Air 2s don’t encounter this as much, though it has happened.
My case usually happens when I switch to settings to connect my Bluetooth headphones then switch back to Minecraft.
Rebooting my iPad gives me one reliable world load, without fail. If it hangs, it will eventually load after between 10 and 15 minutes.
I have tried joining multiplayer through other devices and doing things like punching the host player or opening chests (as I have seen reported by some) but have found that none of that actually helps in my case, and it is just coincidence that the world has been loading long enough to become un-hung.

Having a similar problem using iOS on iPad Pro. Since 1.16.101, when I try to play worlds that I’ve been playing for the last few years, the “Generating world” screen lasts for 5 minutes or more before the world loads. It continues to scroll the usual messages and tips (number of fish types, not killing dolphins, etc.). This happens for 640 MB survival worlds and 5 MB creative mode worlds.
When the world finally loads, it’s as though Minecraft game time had passed during loading— if I had saved the game during daytime, it’s now nighttime, or vice versa. Or sometimes I die immediately from a monster attack.

Yeah exactly what I mean

I'm also having this problem on an iPad 10.2. The game does not load at all, and restarting the iPad gives me one successful world load. Also for me, the chances of me successfully loading a world are about 1/20, as I have to restart Minecraft 15 to 20 times to get a successful world load.

iOS 14.2 on iPad Pro 12.9 inch - same thing. Stuck on generating world. Have tried uninstall / reinstall, no luck. Reboot usually works most (not all) of the time for one good launch, about 1/20 tries for success otherwise.

This Bug first appeared in 1.16.100 and I haven’t been able to load any worlds since. The old occasion one will load but then when closed and opened again it won’t then load and gets stuck on “Generating World” would be great if there was a way to revert to 1.16.50 where the issue isn’t present which can be done if you have the app .IPA file saved from a previous backup.

This bug is still present in 1.16.201, Very Frustrating, this issue should be high on the agenda as it means the game cannot be played at all.

Yup, Been having this issue as well with version 1.16.200 on iOS 14.2 with an iPad Pro. Thought it might be due to the amount of saved worlds my daughter had (200+), but after removing most of them, the issue still occurs.

Been having this exact same issue. Except last night i tried to get in to one of my worlds and instead of filling up and going away like normal, the bar filled up and went back to dark green and still wouldn’t let me in

Temporary workaround: restart Minecraft and then enter the new created world, that fixed it for me.

I've been having this bug on windows 10. Usually after crashing after going through a nether portal. It only really happens on one server (that might just be because its the only world I regularly play on though)

Unfortunately, the temporary workaround does not seem to work, and restarting and rebooting the device does not help anymore. Could my world file be corrupted or something like that?

@Vanya Kostyanivsky: your issue on Win 10 is covered by MCPE-103403.

This is still a issue. I was able to play for a little while last night but it crashed and now is stuck once more. Tried it this morning with no luck.

Have found, on iOS, that when the "generating world" box is open and scrolling through the tips, seemingly not doing anything, the game is actually running. Have had others join my game and play while I am stuck in this state. Unfortunately, since you can't see the game running, you are subject to being killed by mobs easily. It can take anywhere from 5 - 20 minutes before the game actually "loads", though it has been running the whole time.

that used to happen to me. the game would get stuck in a feedback loop i think, but it doesn't happen anymore to me.

For me, I can just change the resource packs and it would get pass the loading screen

Same issues here on my iPad Pro 12.9 inch ML0F2LL/A running iOS 14.3 and Minecraft 1.16.201.
One additional note is that I do not always see the loading progress bar get all the way to the end; it disappears with about 20% of the green bar visible.
I feel like it started around when I did the iOS update from 14.2 to 14.3 or something.
So far I have tried the following things that do not consistently help, if they help at all:
Uninstall minecraft, reinstall it
Log out of xbox live, just use Steve
Change resource packs for a world
Load a new world using just the default resource pack
Soft reboot the ipad
Hard reboot the ipad
Reset network settings on ipad
Possible workarounds:
By reducing my render distance from 24 chunks to 8 chunks, I was just able to load worlds five times in a row in about 30 seconds or less each time. __That's a much much better success rate and load time than I was having before. Hope that helps players and developers and parents troubleshooting their kids stuff like me 🙂

Thank you David! Same here I have tried all the same as you on my iPad Pro with iOS 14.3! I too found that the render distance does seem to enable the game to load. It appears that it is there in the background as it shows up on my iPhone. Where the game loads fine with no issues. As well as local worlds. Seems it could be a iPad Os issue, very annoying as the game works best with a bigger render distance. Let’s hope this is patched soon. As soon as I updated the game to 1.16.100 the issue was present for me and has been here in every version up to and still on 1.16.201.

Since reducing render distance seems to help with this issue, I am linking MCPE-44815 as related. That bug was found to be related to combination of render distance and particular coordinates. So, I wonder if anyone can experiencing this issue could try to see if the coordinates where you last saved & quit from the world make a difference?
I have not been able to reproduce the bug on my iPhone 8 using its max render distance (16 chunks).

Hi there I have managed to get into the world after leaving it on the “Generating world” screen for about 30 minutes. Changing the coordinates did not resolve this issue. I have noticed that the same world. With the same settings works fine on iPhone on iOS but NOT on iPad iOS. So this issue definitely is centred around the iPad and iPadOS and not the iPhone and iOS.
Thank you for your patience. Do the workarounds mentioned here work for anyone else?

If you have a copy of the world available, you might like to upload a copy of it for investigation.
On Android or iOS you need to use a file explorer to navigate to Device storage > games > com.mojang > minecraftWorlds
If the world is larger than 10MB you can upload the world to OneDrive or a similar file sharing site, and then share the link.

Hi, reducing my render distance to either 8 or 12 works and it lets me in to any world. I tried creating a world with a higher render distance (i tried 24 and the max) and it didn’t let me in to the world.
It doesn’t seem to let me in to any world unless my render distance is way down to either 12 or 8. Anything higher doesn’t seem to work.
In the past, with my render distance up high (i usually use max render distance) it used to let me create worlds and would then also let me in to the world. I would play the world for a little bit and then when i left the world it stopped letting me in afterwards. However this no longer works for me. The only solution i can find (for my game at least) is turning my render distance down.

Same here
The world could only be opened when the distance was 8 Chucks (The lowest setting), down from 40 as it always was,
Creating a new world did not work either unless the distance was on the lowest setting on iPad Pro the loading bar disappears about three quarters of the way along and then it doesn’t move past the generating world screen.
All of the same worlds with the highest render distance open fine on iPhone and load as normal it’s just on iPad that this issues seem to be accounting.
Creating a new world, before attempting to open an existing one did not work for me.
Steps I followed
Quit Minecraft,
Re-opened the game, tried to load existing world
got stuck on ‘generating world’ and loading bar disappeared
quit the game and navigated to the render distance settings, set it to the lowest value (8) chunks
pushed play and the world loaded
After loading increased render distance to half and save and quit the world
reloaded the world again and it would not open with it once again getting stuck on ‘generating world’
i have noticed that the same world is absolutely fine on my iPhone XS Max with full render distance and has no issue loading but with the same render distance settings on iPad it does not
I’m happy to upload the world for investigation
how shall I send/ share the link it is about 110mb?

You may upload the world to a file sharing site like onedrive, googledrive, etc., and share the link here.

For me, the world will usually load if I wait a bit. However, it seems the world will run while it's loading, as I once entered a world that was daytime when I last saved, but when it finished loading, it was night and I was already dead.

Hi there
Please see link below for world investigation, I too have found the game appears to be somewhat running in the background behind the “generating world” screen as it sometimes shows up as a multiplayer world on iPhone, but it doesn’t always let you join the world. Would greatly appreciate this issue being resolved as soon as possible as I have spent many hours developing this map.

Is there any update on the progress of this issue? It’s been THREE months since the game worked and still nothing!! This is still a major issue, Has anyone found any other work arounds? I managed to get the game to load when reducing the render distance to the lowest setting of 8 chunks (which is laughable) considering it was been 40 chunks pre 1.16.100. Also what devices is everyone encountering the issues with using? Mine is the iPad Pro 12.9 inch, 1st generation. Will be interesting to see, and if the developers can start actively looking into this as the game is unplayable!!!

My device is a 7th gen ipad. I too, would like to see if there's any progress, as playing on 8 chunks of render distance can be annoying at times

Indeed, so the issues are persistent on newer devices to, it really does need to be address as soon as possible as the game is virtually unplayable on an 8 chunk render distance. Any change above 8 chunks and the world will not load at all, and just sits on the generating station world. Occasionally it does eventually load after about 30 minutes of sitting on the “generating world” screen. Obviously an 8 chunk render distance is no good for map creators like myself!!

I was just about to see a rise that it only happened an iPad Pro and that the developers or testers do not have access to one. It looks like it is happening on more devices than just that though. For what it’s worth my 10-year-old child seems to be fine playing at a render distance of eight. It is unfortunate that the highest powered tablet devices can’t run the game thoug

indeed it does appear to be far more widespread, I have tested it on my friends devices and theirs too have same issue, I found the same issues with the worlds not loading when having a render distance above 8 chunks, on the below devices.
iPad Air 2
iPad Air
iPad 7th generation
iPad Pro 12.9 inch (1st generation)
The funny thing is the iPad Pro, took 35 minutes to open the world! Whilst the iPad 7th generation opened it 13 minutes, same world and same render distance settings.

Since last week, my 10.2 inch iPad (7th generation) has now been running pretty smoothly: worlds load up in 30 seconds to two minutes. Maybe try rebooting the iPad or clearing out unnecessary data?

So it definitely appears to be render distance related by deduction. Any only loading on very low render distances. Does anyone have the latest iPads either Pro or Air? Will be interesting to see if this effecting the latest top end devices? Would be nice if the developers could start activity looking into resolving this issue now that we have an idea what may be causing this.

I have an iPad 7th generation, and it wasn't even a year old when I first encountered this issue. I usually have render distance on 6 chunks. I deleted the worlds i don't use anymore, and I can only play on servers, they load about 10 seconds after I hit join server. I really hope this issue gets resolved with the next update. It also happens when I create a new world too. Yesterday though, I was able to load 2 of my worlds, which loaded up in about a minute, but they were my smallest worlds, 2.3 MB and 1.4 MB

I found something very strange, my mum recently purchased the new iPad Air 4th generation. (Without home button) I though I would try out the wold of which is 120mb with a render distance of 36 chunks and it loaded instantly on there, but the same world and same settings on my 3 year old iPad Pro and nothing! Still stuck on the loading screen for at least 30 minutes. Seems to be effecting selected devices, still massively inconvenient and very annoying that the developers have seemed to abandoned this issue!!!

So because of this issue I haven’t been playing since Mid-October last year. I tried to access my worlds on my iPhone 7 Plus with my usual 32 chunk render distance and it did not load. I exited the app and opened it again and changed the render distance right down to 8 and it loaded!!! It works fine right now, I even changed the render distance back to 32 chunks and it still worked perfectly. Hope this helps any of y’all, I haven’t played for more than 15 minutes so not sure about the functionality of this work around but give it a go!! Hope the developers do something about this soon, it seems out of their priorities rn😞

Indeed I haven’t been able to play since mid October with 1.16.100. Unfortunately I tired that trick with changing my render distance anything above 8 chunks it won’t load. As the developers all but don’t care about this issue guess I will just have to buy the latest iPad to be able to play the game again!!! ☹️😐😩

I have an iPhone 7 Plus and I also tried lowering the render distance, but nothing’s worked. I can’t load any of my worlds anymore, even after trying dozens of times per day. Every new world I create falls into the same trap. I can play on servers though. Multiplayer only works if it’s in someone else’s world.

Hi there, When I played on my phone today (iPhone SE 2nd gen) on 1.16.210, it was having the same issue as my iPad 6th gen (I may be wrong), Honestly, it is quite a few months since this bug was found and yet is still hasn't been fixed, and now spreading to my phone. Btw, if you load a world with eh lowest render distance, load a world. After doing so, set the render distance to the highest... and it can work with no lag or any loading issues. So I think it's the code inside the loading area that could be causing the issue. Thanks and have a great day 🙂

I have the same issue, I found that it will load after more than 30 seconds of saying "Generating World" "Loading Resorces"

I haven’t had an issue with loading saves until the most recent update. I am unable to load any saves from any world; it gets to loading resources then sits there forever. I deactivated texture packs, same issue. Even created a new world, saved, and I am also unable to load that one either. Ive tried on iOS 14.7.1 and iOS 15.0.1.
Deleted mult worlds, retried, nothing.
I am using an iPad Pro, with 146 gb avail space; def not device related, especially since this just became an issue in the last week or so.
*My Minecraft version is 1.17.32.

Update! So I uninstalled and reinstalled, same issue. Created a world with caves and cliffs; will not load. Same seed without cave and cliffs? Loaded fine. Even though it’s experimental, it refuses to load any world that has caves and cliffs selected (now). I didn’t have this issue prior.

You can however, turn on custom biomes and it will load. I’m guess Because Caves and Cliffs is normally a part of these versions now.
[media]

Which specs would you like? (Mentioned most above); minecraft version 1.17.32, iOS 15.0.1, ipad pro gen 4 (2020)
[media][media]
, with around 145 gb available total. Will load and run world saves with custom biomes turned on, but app refuses to load ANY saves that have the caves and cliffs add on enabled (so basically when you play, you miss out on the newer cave generations, depth, etc).

Ok retested on newest update (1.17.34). Couldn’t create a world w/ custom biomes and cave and cliffs (screen never loaded past generating world). It will create worlds AND load saves if with just cave and cliffs OR just custom biomes. If you add both, it’ll either not create a world at all and get stuck on loading screen, or it will get stuck with loading a save (that has both turned on). Individually, doesn’t appear to be an issue.

I found if the world still refuses to load, creating a copy of that world and loading the copy appears to work (for now).

I may sound like a nerd here but I think this is most likely how the world renders the textures of blocks, probably rendering all the textures including the sides that are touching other solid textured blocks, and then removes those textures. and i believe the Bedrock team is working on it, as i have seen it becoming faster at loading since when the bug was found
